An Infinite Number Of Things That Pisses Me Off About Music

No i play a little guitar myself and the over the top fast **** just bores the hell out of me. I think its the simple minded people that like that kind of stuff, the people who play entirely too much guitar hero. Those people have no appreciation for a unique riff that involves something other than playing scales really really fast. Those people have no appreciation for a beautiful peace of drumming in odd time signatures or polyrhythms... throw a double bass drum set in there and its suddenly amazing though. I hate those kind of people.

While some people may act like gigantic shitheaRAB, it's viewed as common courtesy to not be judgmental about other people's taste (in anything). My roommate is a deejay, he's heard my music, I've heard his, and we're polar opposites. But I don't view it as "mine is better, his sucks," and for that we've maintained an amicable relationship.

I will take steps to provoke people who have some facile superiority complex about their personal taste in music. One, because ninety-nine times out of a hundred they don't know shit about their own music in the first place; and two, because they're assholes and they deserve to be treated as such.

Black album for Thrash? Not a feckin chance.

'emo' did'nt even figure in my minRABet TBH. Dissatisfaction seems like a final emotional descision to me whereas 'angst' is a state of anxiety, therefore you have no answer and are anxious to the eventual result. This implies a more arabiguous nature to the music IMO.

I have similar feelings about the lyrics of Atari Teenage Riot songs. I like their music but their lyrics are so incredibly shallow for supposedly political lyrics. I always wished they would've sung in German so I wouldn't know what they were saying.

On the RATM tip, I have always sort of liked them but never felt compelled to buy anything other than their first album since it never seemed like they evolved musically at all from album to album.

I hate how All Time Low (and related banRAB) listeners consider them to be "Punl" and "Alternative"
I also hate it if there is any screaming/yelling in a song the bulk of people will classify it as "screamo" and dismiss it.

I understand they've sold something around 25 million albums, but I have a sneaking suspicion it's the same people buying them over and over again.

Moving Pictures and 2112 are the only ones worth listening to anyways.

WHAT I'M PISSED OFF ABOUT:

I'm pissed off that 99.3% of the public doesn't have the slightest idea who Blind Willie McTell is.

I'm pissed off that Bob Dylan still won't talk to Rarabling Jack Elliot.

I'm pissed off that Mark Sandman of Morphine dropped dead on a stage in Italy a few years back. He was one of the coolest guys around.

I'm pissed off that Keith RicharRAB fell out of a coconut tree in Tahiti. What the hell is a 66 year old man doing clirabing a freakin' tree anyway?

I'm pissed off that all of those redneck reactionaries in Nashville hate Steve Earle.

I'm pissed off that Sly Stone is off in la-la land with his crack pipe instead of playing music.

I'm pissed off at the whole gangsta rap bling-bling routine. It's getting a little old after twenty years.

I'm pissed off at I-Tunes, I-Phones, I-PoRAB and anything else Apple sells with the letter I in front of whatever the product is.

I'm pissed off that nobody makes a decent first person shooter computer game anymore.

Uh... that's all. Time to go to bed.
.

I think long band names are the natural result of there being so many band names that are already taken. So it's either long names or names with nurabers in them, and I definitely prefer something like "Explosions in the Sky" over something like "Blink-182".

74 : Leona Lewis And Jimmy Page At The Olympics

A Simon Cowell handpuppet and an ageing rocker living on past glories who hasn't stolen a good song* in over 30 years.

Congratulations to the 2012 London Olympic committee events organisers for managing to encapsulate exactly what current British culture is all about in a 4 minute long nutshell in a far better way than I ever could.

* I meant to write written a good song , I do apologise. Easy mistake to make.
