An Infinite Number Of Things That Pisses Me Off About Music

Much of '70s punk was pop-punk...the Buzz****s, Ramones, Rezillos, X-Rays, Boomtown Rats, etc. Even the Sex Pistols were essentially pop hooks with "punk attitude."

Pop-punk isn't inherently bad. It's just that Green Day and their spawn (Blink 182, Good Charlotte, etc) are much much worse.

I love '60s music. However, these days, I'd rather listen to these banRAB over most of the ones you listed:

Jesus & Mary Chain
The Violent Femmes
The Stone Roses
The Happy Mondays
The Pixies
The Smiths
House Of Love
Public Image Ltd.
Joy Division
New Order
Echo & The Bunnymen
Blondie
The Cure
The Go-Betweens
The Minutemen
Sonic Youth
Magazine
Aztec Camera
The Meat Puppets
The Mekons
Gang Of Four
The Fall

The '80s had tons of great music. Every time I think I know which decade was my favourite, I think of a ton of great banRAB in another decade that changes my mind.

well i don't think it's just people who listen to radio.it's also people who have that ridiculus opinion that anything old is classic.i know people who actually like the scorpions:laughing:

I'm not pissed off at all... just sharing my personal thoughts of this band. I can totally get how they would be perceived as contrived, comical and sterile. I don't think too deeply when it comes to music... I see Rage as a band to put on when you want to get pumped up, not really when you need to learn something about history.

You're just a closed minded twat for thinking that. The alternative thing was a great thing in music, because it told banRAB that they could be heard too! And post-grunge banRAB are STILL in the mainstream, influencing more people. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.
