I just recently bought some Orion XTR 122's to get more bang out of my amp. I have tuned my amp by ear which is good enough for now since i have it tuned down to let them break in before i push them. Once it comes time to push them i would like something a little more solid to go by so I can make sure that I can get the most power safely. My amp is rated for 600 RMS at 2 ohm and my subs are rated for 250 RMS each at 2 ohm so i know i don't want to turn my gain all of the way up and I have read that my amp is capable of pushing more than it's rated which I'm worried about. I guess in a perfect world I would like someone to tell me where to tune all of my knobs but any advice helps.

First you need to know what is the voltage on your sub pre amp outs, then use a multimeter to set the gain on your amp to that voltage that is of your sub pre amp outs. After that set the rest of the settings to your liking. Do not worry about the subs though, Orions subs are all under ratted.
