Amp power cable vs. ground cable?

do i need to buy the cable that says specifically for ground? or can i just use my left over wiring from the power cable to connect in the ground? is there a difference between the two cables?
 
I would.
In theory, the ground cable should be a braided cable to prevent RFI or EMI, but I've never found this to be an issue in actual applications.
