America's military crown jewel, the F-22A Raptor, will now be given to Israel. *link*

Removing certain parts require removal of many panels. All the panels have special coatings and crap that have to be touched up after as well. Currently when we get a new plane we have to strip all the panels and engines to do all the necessary work. I wouldnt say its insanely hard to work with but composites are unforgiving to sudden impact.

They have a computer that spits out maintenance codes but right now all the work being done to them are mostly mods. The gun on it is awesome. Too bad it'll never be used.

The GE F135 engine puts out 35,000 to 40,000 lbs of thrust
I was dissapointed too when I heard the F-35 was gonna be single engine.
Mach 1.5 off a single jet engine ain't bad at all. Still can't outrun a tomcat however
