Some people think Americans are rough as barnacles around the edges of their personalities; raised in the 'rough and tumble' style, cowboys, round up the posse! Some, though, can be hip, cool-talking, strutting about town. While, Europeans are often viewed as refined, elegant, cultured with centuries of history that only adds to their style. Why Europeans more culturally astute, elegant, than their American counterparts.
I heard somewhere that Italians raise their children to be 'elegant.' I don't know if the typical American knows how to raise an 'elegant' child. I could be wrong, but I've never met an elegant American (but I've seen some in our films).
Canada does seem between worlds, so to speak; but, I liked Canda and found the people sedate, but not boring.
