American Dad Renewed for 2012-2013 Season

Thanks for the tip, Tobias!

This is probably my favorite show on the Animation Domination block, so this is pretty exciting news for me! Can't wait to see what they think up next.

Thank you god. This is by far one of my favorite shows on television, so I've been worried about it after it was moved slots again.

And with this, American Dad has now changed in my mind from being the "current Futurama" (a second cartoon by a creator that is overshadowed, neglected, buried, and will only earn the proper respect after it has cancelled once) to being comparable to being the "current King of the Hill" (the awesome underrated death slot that just won't die).

Amazing news. This has been consistantly been my favorite Fox cartoon for a few seasons now, and it's great to hear there's still at least another two seasons to come.

This is what, the 5th, or 6th season it will be up to then? Truly impressive for something generally overlooked both by fox and in mainstream conversation.

I`m glad its continuing, as it carries on the spirit of FG season 2/3 humor.

American Dad already has that time slot on Adult Swim.

The only difference is they will have new episodes to put there.
American Dad getting a new season on Fox doesn't change that one bit.

Good news, I hope they keep Bob's Burgers too. They're the best two shows on the block.
Simpsons and Cleveland need to end in March 2012.
Then the block should be FG, AD, BB and either Napoleon Dynamite TAS or that other show.

I'm actually quite happy because the show has evolved so much since its initial debut. I liked American Dad because it was familiar to family guy in 04, but looking at the caliber of episodes from 08-present and the previous episodes is literally like day and night. I think American Dad defines animation domination for me moreso than FG has done. I can openly say I like that show and people are confused
...
and I don't mind:p

I recall reading in a thread around here that Fox keeps renewing American Dad due to its success in syndication and DVD sales.

If that's true, then I can definitely see why they choose to give it the shaft on Sundays. The first run airing doesn't matter to them as much as the other outlets.

I'm just glad its not getting the axe any time soon. I think the last few seasons have been a bit repetitive, but I'd rather watch this over The Cleveland Show.
