From my previous questions many of you may be aware that I will be going to America this August for the first time (Pittsburgh, PA) for an Internship. I am Middle Eastern/South East Asian, 22, British and live in a predominantly White area of England; therefore I have only experienced the English "White" culture as all of my friends, class mates and colleagues are White.
I am really looking forward to the diversity in America so what do you think I should expect and is there anything I should be aware of.
For example; I heard that the term "coloured" is racist in America whereas in the UK it's used often.
So anything you have, I would love to hear.
Thank you =)
Soy: Really?? I live by the Lake District area, and we all use it over here for non-whites...but this area..is it not used in cities..?
