American cartoons dubbed in different languages

Whenever the Simpsons season sets come out, I always watch the one episode that includes a Japanese audio option. It's not too bad, actually, though obviously since I don't know Japanese I have no idea if it's a "faithful" dub or not, or if the voice acting is funny. I'd imagine they changed some jokes so they have more relevance to Japan, but I can't say for sure.

I saw Simpsons in German. Lisa had the same voice and Bart sounded like a little girl. I saw Ed Edd n Eddy in Japanese and for the most part sounded accurate (Except for Double D. He sounded like a 2-year-old that swallowed helium.)

Yeah, I've seen a few episodes of the Simpsons in Japanese from A) the boxsets, and B) An afterschool Japanese class I took a few years ago.
The dub is not bad, most of the voices fit though it's weird hearing Milhouse and Nelson voiced by men. :p The kids in particular have really cute voices (Bart, Lisa, and Martin especially). Marge sounds a lot more childish than her American counterpart. I also check out the other languages that I can see from the boxsets. I thought the French dub and Italian dub was pretty good as well, but the Czech version...*shivers*.

I saw The Little Mermaid 2 in Germany and that was weird experience...I also saw Darkwing Duck in Germany too, can't remember how they sounded exactly but Gosalyn still managed to have a fairly cute voice.

How dare they change the theme song to some random rock song, that's totally unfitting for the series and isn't what the creator originally intended. Have they no artistic preservation or respect?

Doubt it's as rewritten as the Beast Wars dub was, but I've only seen a few clips of Japanese Simpsons.

Yeah, the TMNT (2003) dub in Japan is really bizarre...and also very ironic. They renamed the turtles Cool, Hot, Genius and Sunny.

And people think 4Kids' dub names are bad. >.>

I watch stuff in other languages when I can - it's usualy good for a laugh. The Fosters Japanese dub was especialy amusing 'cause Bloo's seiyuu happends to also be Sauske (Naruto) and Ishida's (Bleach) Seiyuu. IT BROKE MY BRAIN! XD

Hey, the U.S. TMNT song was just flat out cheesy. Considering, I think the TMNT Japanese Opening Song is ten times better, that's what U.S. action cartoons should have in my opinion.

You're entitled to your opinion, but seriously, no more of the anime > USAnimation, declarations. Please, let's not turn this into another "anime vs USAnimation" debate. That debate is beyond tired.

BTW, that was the Italian TMNT theme, not the Japanese one.

Already mentioned it. They also had 2 Japanese style ending themse too. One was basically a montage of TMNT anime concept art and FHE's VHS covers.

Yeah, that's getting quite tiresome.

And no, I have not forgotten not that long ago, when anime was a major focus on this site, receiving more positive attention than classics...
