The thing to do with shows that have gotten a bit boring is to introduce a deeply unpleasent and pointless additional character, sort of like Scrappy Do in the Scooby Do series.

In this case maybe a puppet dog that spits. He and Chris could have a nice funny dialogue in the middle of the show. Maybe throw flans into the audience as well.

Perhaps get in some kind of top totty to co-present, and don't forget the cartoons!
