All New Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

As a contestant on the new series of Who Wants to be a Millionaire I thought I would check out what people are saying about the new format. Although there is quite a bit of discussion about the new format I was disappointed to see that most of this thread has been taken up with various members making derogatory comments about the contestants and even their companions in the audience during the airing of the show eg. suggestions that one contestant needed her teeth sorting due to gaps in her teeth! Another comment that a contestant's mother looked like she was wearing joke glasses. I don't really see the point in wasting your time making these comments. Personally, I had a wonderful time filming the show and, having also been a contestant on the fastest finger first version I found the new format much faster paced with more chance for more people to win money. I would point out that it is very easy to sit at home screaming at the TV and shouting at the contestants but believe me, once you get in that seat, you begin to doubt your own sanity. If you follow someone who has just lost a lot of money it also makes you very cautious. Also the sound of that clock ticking down in the studio tenRAB to send you into an almighty panic. So, next time you are thinking of making a comment about the appearance or actions of a contestant maybe think about what I have said. I think I got off quite lightly with the comments which have been made on this forum but some of the other contestants could be very upset if they were to read some of the posts.

I thought overall that it was an improvement apart from the loss of fastest finger.

I don't accept that just because something's been running a while then it's tired. By far the best "game show" on TV by a mile is Countdown (okay game show not quiz show) and that's been running a lot longer than WWTBAM. The important thing is how good it is and WWTBAM is still better than most of the opposition especially anything on ITV.

That is certainly true of the present setter whoever he or she may be.

I suspect the over the years there have been many different people who have written the questions for
"Who Wants to be a Millionaire"
The strange thing is that I think the identity of every single one of these setters is kept a secret even long after they have given up the role.

Why is that? Does anybody know?

The first

if he keeps getting questions that seem tailor-made for him he might.

e: lol just as i say that the young guy gets a football question.

I really hate this new format and now honestly think this is the beginning of the end of Millionaire. I've thought for a while the questions seem a whole lot harder than they used to be. Watching the old Millionaire episodes on Challenge, you will notice most of the contestants getting up to the

If someone actually got any where near the million pound question it would liven it up but no one ever does. I agree the questions are too hard, must be, or they are getting too many thickoes on lately. I bet when they pick the contestants they dont pick any 'regulars' who are really good.
