Alien vs Predator

You are right there's only two, although there are comics and other franchise materials available such as Alien vs Predator vs the Terminator  so maybe your hubby is thinking of one of those titles?

The second one is a tad more gory, and the scene where the 'Predalien' (I know, I know ) attacks the pregnant women in the maternity ward is particularly disturbing, as is the scene in which the young boy and his dad out hunting in the forest get facehuggered.

HOWEVER: That's about as good as it gets.

The film is full of annoying, one-dimensional 'teen' characters - including the obligatory team of two brothers, i.e. the younger one at High School and the older bad-boy-made-good who's just got out of jail and is the nominal hero figure (you know the drill ). And of course younger brother and High School bully are - inevitably - both after the same dumb blonde (once again - you know the drill  ).

Another major problem that the film has is that some unfathomable reason, the director decided to have all the creature action scenes take place in virtual darkness and in pouring rain.

The upshot? Two black creatures who look very similar battling it out in almost total darkness with the rain coming down - so you can actually see very little of what's going on, and the end result is a mess.

I thought the much-maligned first AvP movie was (on balance) actually better than the sequel "AvP: Requiem".

That is the least of those films worries. I thought that AvP was as bad as it could get. Then AvP:R came along, and boy was I wrong.

Haha yeah the Strause brothers managed something I thought impossible, they made a shitter film than the first, hell the first one looks good compared to the second. The strause brothers seemed to think if they put a lot of gore in it the fans will like it, wrong.

Plus as somebody mentioned you can barely make out what's going on in the second it's so dark, maybe they thought it would hide just how crap it really is.

Regardless of the medium, keep the Xenomorphs and Predators seperate I say. Predator was a fun B-movie (albeit with a big budget) but you just know the original pitch was 'hey guys, it's like Alien...but in the jungle!'

The sequel was terrible, thought I'd wandered into a teen slasher movie... but with an alien or two thrown in.

I do prefer the music score in the second movie compared to the first though. By Brian Tyler, it's fab.

I still love them, the Aliens never stop being scary - well okay that dog one in 3 was crap.

Anyhow there are two new Aliens games coming, a new AvP and the long delayed/remade Colonial Marines. AvP 2 was one of the most enjoyable and scary games I have ever played.

:)

Two too many...

Predator belongs in the present. The Alien belongs in the future, and safely far away from me as a result.:D

Whoever thought bringing them together would be a good idea neeRAB a good facehugging.

The need to rerelease AVP2 with the brightness fixed, it is a difficult film to watch even if you have the brightness turned up. Surely they should have realise it was a mistake.

The 2nd one sounRAB like a bit of a disappointment. I thought they should have placed all the action on an alien planet and had just aliens and predators in it and no humans at all - could have been a more interesting film I think.

For one heart stopping moment I thought someone had started an AvP appreciation thread. If your hubby is into those films divorce him, he is obviously mentally unsound.
