Absence is without a doubt in a league of its own when it comes to industrial hip hop. I remeraber reading Urban's 100 top albums or something and quite surprised to see that album on his list. The album does so much right that it's impossible not to respect it.
Killing Joke - Absolute Dissent (2010)
Definitely a worthy follow up to Hosannas from the Basement of Hell but not as strong.
Alrite, I never really used to like Alice In Chains that much before (was more into Pearl Jam/Soundgarden etc), but after I got a lend of their 'MTV Unplugged' DVD I have really come to appreciate their music and their lyrics are excellent. Before I only had the 'Dirt' album and wasnt really that keen but after watching the DVD I think it shows a totally different side to their music and the songs as it is all acoustic version, I have since bought all their albums (including their two Eps 'Jar Of Flies' (of which I think personally is the best collection of songs they ever wrote), & 'Sap'.
Also I think their best song is either 'Nutshell' or 'No Excuses'. Anyone who says 'Would' (although I wouldnt say it was a bad song) is their best is a 'hits surfer'.
i would suggest No Control and Suffer...this is when they formed the "bad religion" sound .....but if you want more straight forward early 80's LA punk rock check out 80-85 which is a couple of eps and their first album 'How Could hell Be Any Worse'...in my opinion the best song they ever recorded is on 80-85 "Along The Way".....if you like these check out Against The Grain for super melodic hyper-intelligent punk rock.....

A band that I have never delved into too much. I will have to add them to the ever growing list of 'To Hear'! Don't tire of music M! rabroad will pull you back from the precipice!
Having a bit of a Foo Fighters night tonight... just listened to Skin and Bones, which I picked up the other day, now listening to Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace...a really solid, great album, which I believe to be up there with their best!
For some reason I decided the best way to go through Elvis Costello's discography is chronologically. I started with My Aim Is True a few months back and loved it. This Year's Model was ok, but a little average for my tastes. Armed Forces...his first to credit the Attractions on the cover...is pretty damn good. My Aim Is True is still a tad more entertaining, but this album has some songs that are just plain addictive.
