I tend to binge on Pink Floyd quiet often. Pipers has to be on my top 5 Pink Floyd albums. Syd Barrets lyrics are witty, funny and trippy. Making him one of my favorite songwriters of all time.
I've missed this album. Haven't listened to any Cohen in ages, and this one will always be my pick of the bunch. It's home to quite possibly the finest set of lyrics ever committed to an album as well.
Haha No New York is probably my favorite compilation album. There might be something from San Francisco at the same time that just never got popular for whatever reason. You've piqued my interest so now I'm off to hunt the all knowing internet
I used to dig Overkill, in the late 80s and very early 90s. I had Under the Influence, The Years of Decay and Horrorscope, thought all were good. I had a Horrorscope t-shirt! I just looked at their discography and had no idea they'd still been releasing albums regularly since those days.
been meaning to cop that for some time. So are we talking flamenco madness here?
I've been unearthing:
bought on CD (how quaint) when it came out and it's been haunting the recesses of my consciousness for 4 years. Downloading the second album now, can't wait
I love this album to pieces. One of the finest albums it's been my pleasure to get hold of in recent months - it's an interesting little album that you can't really stick a coherent genre label on. Kinda melancholy baroque pop with some new wave and folk-rock thrown in. Perfect music for this time of morning too (it's pretty early over here, at least by my standarRAB).
Predecessors to Hieroglyphics, one of the annals of hip-hop perfection. Filled to the brim with dense rhymes & tight beats. In other worRAB, dope as fuck.
been working lately and having stuff on in t'background, in partic.:
monster. They should remaster this properly with no crappy extra tracks and sell it for a fiver. The 'no future' bit to 'God Save the Queen' is like a time machine. Somebody recently told me that 'Liar' was filler... whaaat?
It's not bad, Mustaine playing to his strengths and the new guitarist is immense but... feels like a cut-rate version of Peace Sells
'Sophia's Song' gives ya the shivers, i wish the bloke wouldn't bother singing but he's not too offensive. Also great for sleepytime playlists. Had no idea what to expect going in, always thought they were a darkwave band
A candidate for the best metal album of '10 so far imo. This is the very first release from the Swiss black metalers.
The band was formed by metal legend, Tom Gabriel Warrior of Hellhammer and Celtic Frost.
Check this **** out, it melt your ****in' ears.
Yeah, I don't know much about who she recorRAB with, if anybody. It may just be her doing all of the instruments via overdubs, but it sounRAB an awful lot like it involves more than one person... I'll have to look into that.
I really wish more alternative rock banRAB utilized horns more frequently. This is such a good cross of rock and jazz it hurts. Another one of those '90's banRAB that people often skip over in favour of the usual suspects. Definitely worth your time, especially if you like unique banRAB.
