Albums You're Digging II

Actually, I hadn't realized. I knew that Antenna was released by HH - after that I lost track..
But what I meant was reviews of albums released in the early years of the label. Early releases by Cave In, Botch, drowningman, Coalesce, etc.

^ I don't even like him & that was funny.

My boyfriend made me a mix tape (I'm old school, I still say tape), called it Last Chance Blueprint, after the Rise Against song. It has a variety of stuff we like on it... Bad Religion, Rise Against, Third Eye Blind (the good stuff), Germs, Counting Crows, etc...
Favorite tracks,
God of Wine - Third Eye Blind
August & Everything After - Counting Crows
What We Do Is Secret - Germs
Lexicon Devil - Germs
Ghetto Defendant (Guest Vocals by Allen Ginsberg) - the Clash
Thin Blue Flame - Josh Ritter
Last Chance Blueprint - Rise Against
God's Love - Bad Religion

Good call. In fact I'd say quite simply one of the best albums I've heard. You know a hip hop producer knows what he's doing when ****ing Blue Note gives him free reign to their music.

Marcy Playground - Marcy Playground

Sadly this band was written off as a one-hit wonder after the single "Sex and Candy", but their debut album is very solid. The single is probably the song I like least. I haven't gotten into their other albums as much but this is a classic for me.

^ Some of the best vocal and guitar work I've heard. Definitely up there with their best efforts.

^ Never liked this album much when I bought it a few years back. Safe to say it's worked its way up my list of best growers, to the extent that it might just be my favourite of theirs.

^ And I don't think I'll ever get sick of this.

HENRY COW - Legend
Suddenly, I like my music teacher, even if he's some random narrow minded grouchy 30-year-old.

DIABLO SWING ORCHESTRA - Sing Along Songs for the Damned And Delirious
I can't tell if this is weirdest thing I've ever heard or the best thing I've ever heard. I'll go with both.

The Hawk is Howling - Mogwai

Reaklly love the way this album ebbs and flows.... actually seems less dark, more uplifting than some of their previous stuff, but this is no bad, the melodies are beautiful, the playing exquisite, the sound just perfect.... one of my regular listening favorites now...

Another of my prog rock discoveries, after a brief stint in which they recorded this awesome album "Growers of Mushroom" Leaf Hound merabers went off to banRAB such as Foghat, Free and Atomic Rooster. While not as successful as these latter banRAB Leaf Hound is measures above in all possible ways. The album starts and enRAB rocking just as hard as Led Zeppelin ever did, while venturing into deep prog tinted tracks as well as a lot of short but powerful songs. (PM me if you want it) This is however a lot more than just a hard rock album forgotten in the sanRAB of time, this is an instant classic to everyone who hears it. Pure brilliance.

Cool i'll explore them, if they are as good as FielRAB of The Nephilim they must be worth a try.

EDIT:

Listening now and it does sound brilliant, I will certainly be getting this. Love the girls voice.
