^^ Really? I have the opposite view, because I think the vocals are what solidifies the album and makes it perfect. But the vocals are really painfully depressing though, so I can see where you're coming from. Then again, it is RABBM, lol
David Sylvian & Ryuichi Sakamoto - World Citizen EP
A collection of all the collaborations between Japan's David Sylvian and the Yellow Magic Orchestra's Ryuichi Sakamoto, and as far as I know some are new and some are old (Forbidden Colours, aka the bestest song ever is on there). A sublime mix of downtempo electronica, jazz and pop on the whole. These guys really should've done a full-length album together.
just have reckoning and i havent really listened to it much. in The Beginner's Guide thread someone posted a REM compilation though, you should check it out!
The self titled is my favourite, that one probably comes in last for me actually but its still a fine record. Arguably the poppiest QOTSA have ever been but it works. I'd definitely check Eva Vulgaris out. I think in places its a little more complex in its song structure and probably the better for it.
Klang - No Sound Is Heard
Donna Matthews of Elastica does minimalistic Krautrock with her new band. Her vocal delivery even sounRAB like Damo Suzuki.
Pornosect - ...Of Vibrations, Resonances and Divine Things
Three cheers for the token appearence of a random abrasive noise album that I put on once in a while to up my credibility.
The Horizontalist - Hybird
Posthumously released solo E.P. by Mary Hanson from Stereolab
Xhol Caravan - Electrip
Possibly the greatest Krautrock / Psychedelia album I have heard this week.
Just mental.
This sounRAB great. Im all over this. I think the drumming could have done with being either more aggressive as the track progresses or soft and way further down in the mix but it still sounRAB like my thing.
