The Jesus & Mary Chain : Automatic

It is fair to say I'm in a Jesus & Mary Chain mood. Even fairer to say that I'm currently obsessed by them. I'm also listening to their other two albums (Stoned & Dethroned and Munki) and their collections of b-sides and rarities. Currently, I'm of the belief that pop and rock never reached a higher pinnacle. That may not last forever, but wow, I'm really into them at the moment. I've always liked them, but suddenly it's kicked in much harder.

I wasn't sure if I liked At The Drive-In so much until I gave a good listen to these next two albums. I have to say I was fairly surprised.

Recently got into these guys too, the front man is a really great lyricist and has some really meaningful stories and opinions.

Poppy, fast, electronic, enjoyable, sometimes pretentious indie tunes. Lots of fun though.

Well this is certainly a piece of badassery. I love the perfectly nonchalant "I'll drug you and **** you on the permafrost"

Back when Rod Stewart rocked... what the hell happened? Solid album anyway

This album is tops, from start to end. The intro to I Love the World amuses me... it almost sounRAB like they're going to break out into a power metal chorus around the 1m mark... thankfully they don't

Last night I went on a bit of an REM kick, but generally wanted to listen to their less heavily publicised stuff including...

Reckoning
Monster
Up

Then of course I had to listen to Accelerate because it's so darn good!

And if you assume no one will be interested, why post it at all? ;) Yes the artist/album names are always helpful. Sometimes a name can interest someone and make them want to look into it. Even if the names are on the art...it's helpful to type it because 1) sometimes images don't show up (like when people grab images from sites that don't allow hotlinking like rateyourmusic.com or discogs.com) and 2) for search reasons.

The stuff I find myself listening to at work just seems to get more & more aggressive by the day. I'll end up killing someone by the end of the week at this rate. Maybe I should listen to something to chill me out.

Maybe not then
