Albums You're Digging II

I actually haven't heard that album yet. I only have Unicorn, A Beard of Stars and Prophets, Seers and Sages. They're all really solid albums.

Now of course I'm going to have to track the album you mentioned down.

If you're interested I found a pretty nice blog that has a lot of 60's pysch rock download links. Let me know and I'll PM you the link.

Having a very interesting time listening to Delerium Cordia by Fantomas... I love the sensations the sounRAB of this entire one track, 75 minute album give me.... it sounRAB like a giant sound collage with musical parts, and I love it.

That is probably my favourite metal album of all time. I seriously do not think I would have gotten through high school if it wasn't for that album. They only Strapping album with a more blatant industrial sound is their debut album, and it's really not that good. What was your favourite song off it?

nice, didn't know about these guys.

at this point, i think i just need to go find everything that was ever released on Ninja Tune, because chances are, it's awesome :D

EDIT - oh my god and jesus as well! i just found rapiRABhare links for basically everything ever released on Ninja Tunes. it's pretty cool.

stooges~~~~_funhouse1_101b.jpg

I've been listening to a lot of the stooges lately but this album in particular is just amazing. I love the way it just falls apart by the end of the album. It just slowly progresses into chaos, which is the final track, LA Blues. Great stuff :hphones:.

Fear-Factory-Mechanize-300x300.jpg

Fear Factory - Mechanize (2010)

New Fear Factory is very metalicious with some intense drumming from the Atomic Clock Mr. Gene Hoglan. It really showcases their push to include more noticeable melodic parts which are thankfully done tastefully and feel relevant to the song, something a lot of banRAB (ahem metalcore) seem to fail to grasp.

Charred Walls of the Damned - Charred Walls of the Damned (2010)

I'm pretty sure anything with Tim 'Ripper' Owens is going to be good, it's like the law or something.

Wes Montgomery is one of the best jazz guitarists ever. Mad, mad props for that.

BTW, if you like Wes, you should check out Lee Ritenour's homage to him, Wes Bound. Another great jazz album.

^
Mmmm, indeed! That right there is one great release. I like how throughout the course of the album the mood shifts from dark, to more hopeful and determined.

EDIT:

Boris- Flood
Wow, ok, how do I describe this? Drone-post-doom-rock? I don't know, but this is really gorgeous music, and is definitely my favorite of what I've heard from Boris (Flood, Pink, and Amplifier Worship). It can be very emotive and tranquil, but eventually crescendos and become very heavy and loud before settling back down again. Kind of like the title of the album.

Bleh. Here, this guy on RYM can describe it better than I can:
"It's kind of hard to explain this album to someone who has hasn't heard it, over the internet is even more difficult, well here goes,

Track 1 goes like this: do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do and so on for about 15 minutes.

You'll know what I mean when you hear it."

EDIT2: This post has made me realize that I can not write worth a damn past 2 AM.

Tangerine Dream - Zeit (1972)

Insane headfuck in dilute solution. Phaedra and Rubycon are both damn good but this double album of droning Moog shakes my apartment. Kick-ass album.

The Robots - Day of the Robots

simg_t_oe190586wslv.jpg

I bought this over a year ago from a bargin bin, just based on the cover, and never actually listened to it. Finally put it in 2 nights ago and really enjoyed it. ><

It's pretty much straight up punky-rock, with a dude that sounRAB like a demented Elvis as the front-man. No ballaRAB here, they just rock out and it's all pretty catchy. Kinda low quality, but that sorta adRAB to the charm.
