Pink Floyd - Animals

Okay, most of you know Pink Floyd - they are not the newest thing out there I guess. But lately I've been staying up all night just listening to Pink Floyd and this album is the most played at present. I really like the feeling on the record of going through some problems but in the end you accept it and find some sort of acknowledgement or answer to it all. My favourite track would be Dogs, I just love the guitar on it.

Faust - Faust

It's safe to say that I now enjoy this even more than IV - For a while, I thought that that would be absolutely impossible; even though IV isn't my favorite album or anything, it's certainly magnificent all the same. This album, however, has a stream-of-consciousness, tyrannical, fearsome vein running through it that IV doesn't. The obscurities placed in some of these songs just make them rise miles higher than most tracks on IV. Albeit, "Krautrock" will probably always be my favorite single Faust track, but good lord do I love this album as a whole.

The Black SeeRAB - Pushed (Keep on Pushing remixed)

This...This... This is just giving me a priapism. A remix of their prior album Keep on Pushing with a variety of contributing DJ's and producers. Soul inflected dub with a down tempo & acid jazz twist. Fucking outstanding! You Wait (Twinset Remake) is worth the price of admission alone, but there is so much more goodness on this stellar album.

I feel really guilty almost for not liking the Sundays, i feel i should like them but i feel they aren't too different enough. The closest i can think of as a female version of the Smiths is the Long Blondes and thats only slightly and album wise they haven't got nearly any of the consistency...

MGMT - Oracular Spectacular
Synthy-psychedelic-pop-rock. Kind of sounRAB like of Montreal formed a band with the Flaming Lips and had Jack White sing.
Key Tracks - Time To Pretend, Weekend Wars, KiRAB

Animal Collective - Feels
One of my all time favs. Strawberry Jam is just as good IMO but I've been listening to this one a lot lately.
Key Tracks - Have You Seen the WorRAB?, Grass, The Purple Bottle, Banshee Beat

Loney, Dear - Loney, Noir
Swedish folk-pop. Not too mind blowing lyrically, but the guy has a nice voice. Catchy.
Key Tracks - Saturday Waits, Carrying a Stone, I am John

My Morning Jacket - Z
Just got into this album. Wish I would've got into it sooner. Just really good top to bottom.
Key Tracks - Wordless Chorus, It Beats 4 U, Off the Record, Knot Comes Loose

Casual Projects

Self titled from a brilliant live aussie hip hop crew. Courtesy of Loathsome Pete. The style is mostly dense funk rock, with a whole bunch of other elements thrown in on top as is hip hop's style, the choruses are surprisingly hooky. Haven't had time to let it sink in lyrically but I know I will be spending a lot of time with this in the future - haven't been this excited about a new album for a while.
