Currently enjoying Q-Tip - Kamaal The Abstract, although just released it was produced in 2002 or something and would have been far ahead of its time in my opinion. Great hybrid of hip hop, jazz, soul and R&B.
Listening to the Chemical Brothers "We Are The Night" now, and it's not nearly as bad as I imagined or read in reviews.... in fact it's actually shaping up as quite an enjoyable little electronica / dance album...
The two best Wizard recorRAB aswell I feel. Dopethrone edges it for me but Come My Fanatics is sensationally trippy. I made the mistake of listening to that once on full volume through some earphones on my way to work. It had drained the life out of me by the time I got there.
THE SMITHS - THE PEEL SESSIONS
Not much neeRAB to be said I feel, I think most here have heard The Smiths at some point. Fantastic live recordings, the version of Still Ill for a start is magnificent.
I am doing back catalogue tonight and listening to a few neglected albums.
Still sounRAB ridiculously fresh considering it's 14 years old.
Surely these guys must be putting out some new product soon? Chock full of killer riRAB and intensity. One of the finest Grindcore albums of the last 10 years.
German EBM- is there any other? Creepy and hypnotic as well as balls out intense.
Eva Vulgaris may surprise you a little in that case. Its still QOTSA, i wouldnt be expecting anything else but I dont feel they have made a record like it before and feel it covers a little new ground. I'm not even going to begin to try and describe 'Make It Wit Chu' because if you havent heard that one already I think its best left until you can check the record out. Theres differences between Kyuss' output and the first QOTSA album but I feel there was a lot of Kyuss still in Homme at the time of writing that record, much more than there is in his songwriting now.
Well... I've been following Karnivool from close to the very beginning so I'll always have a soft spot for Themata... brilliant album that I was blown away and holRAB some fantastic memories of some of their live shows I've been too! However, I absolutely love Sound Awake - I think the sound is much more mature and you can tell they've put a lot of energy in it. Though maybe I just love it so much because I've been waiting around four years for it!
