Albums You're Digging II

Aw, I just posted a link in the Stinking Lizaveta thread. That's the only one I've got. By the way, I got these link from a new meraber, BigJimSlade. He's a friend of mine irl and if you find his profile or a post, click on his blog. There are loaRAB of good RARE downloaRAB! Few reviews, but still worth checking out.

Recorded just 3 weeks before Dolphy's untimely death, Cornell 1964 is over 120 minutes of amazing live jazz. This album, although recorded in 1964, wasn't released until 2007. A plus for me, It was recorded at a venue @ Cornell University in Ithaca, NY where I've been privileged to see some of my favorite shows.

I am DYING to hear that Paul Dempsey solo album, but alas it' not available anywhere here in Wisconsin or the States... are you able to puload me a copy.... you' be making a misplaced Australian extremely happy...

Strapping Young Lad - City

I have to admit, I was hesitant to look into this band because of how deeply I loathe other industrial-metal acts like Ministry and Skinny Puppy. Turns out this is way more metal than industrial, the drums have a lot of reverb on them but apart from that it's just a really intense extreme metal album. Devin Townsend is incredible on vocals, especially here.

As a sidenote there's an awesome Cop Shoot Cop cover on the album. Gotta appreciate a fellow Tod A. fan. :thurab:

Not listened to this all the way through since about a year ago, got some good tracks but there are some weak ones also. Prob best pick and choosing tracks.

Digging REM's Up album tonight, quite a damn fine, completely and totally underrated album, which I have been looking forward to playing gin for some time!

Nice chilled Electro Pop from Canada. Nothing remarkable but the arabience makes it for me.

Just damn good dreamy pop with a sprinkling of guitars and Electronica.

Spacey minimalist classy Krautrock.

Just really intelligent instrumental hip-hop. Listened to this around 10 times in the past 4 days I would guess.

Davide Swarup - Music for Hang

Read about the hang drum in Gavin B's journal and had to check this out. It's just one guy and his drum, which might sound boring, but for whatever reason this stuff really just hits a chord with me. I'm not sure what it it...the tones are just amazing. Very relaxing, but I would NOT recommend driving to this...it almost lulled me to sleep at the wheel last night, no joke. Someone lend me 5 grand so I can get my own hang drum made. >

can i just interject and say Scientist is brilliant. Classic dub is brilliant, once you get into the groove you don't see the need to listen to anything else. That music is like therapy to me. I don't know what you'd think of it if you didn't have big speakers though, it f*cking kills me that I don't have a sub woofer

Also everyone's been mad on that Jim White album, will have to inveshtigate.

I know I probably come of as rab's biggest fanboy of the Church... but man, Untitled # 23 is one freaking amazing trip of an album. Start to finish. Amazing. God I love this band.
