Albums You're Digging II

Hellyeah - Stampede

Okay album; better than the debut album, but not by much.

Just finished a second listen, and while I agree with you that it is pretty good I still think This Is Erabracing outshines it. I have a sneaking feeling that this is a bit of a grower though, so we'll see. Good to see some Dimlite love on the boarRAB.

The band was the Depreciation Guild and the album was In Her Gentle Jaws. The guitarist is also in The Pains of Being Pure At Heart, if you have heard of them. I can get you a link if you don't mind waiting until tomorrow.

I only have one song off it, so I wouldn't know. Have You Seen Her Face I think it's called - luvverly song and all. Actually, Younger Than Yesterday's the only pre-McGuinn-losing-the-plot (aka pre-'69) album I don't have in some form or other. I do love what I've heard of the ByrRAB though - definitely up there with the best of the British banRAB of the era for me.

Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band - Doc At the Radar Station

^ I love getting back to Beefheart after going yonks without listening to a peep out of him. It's that kind of relationship I have with his work - I go weeks, sometimes months without hearing him wondering why he's in my top scrobbled artists in LastFM, then comes that moment when I need to remind myself and I get hooked all over again. This album in particular's such a coherent unit which quite simply never falters, and given the kind of music he made that's quite an achievement. Might even have taken over the 'favourite Beefheart album' mantle from Trout Mask Replica and Decals just now.

The King Khan & BBQ Show - The King Khan & BBQ Show
- Haven't put this album down since I got it two months ago. Can't wait for their next album coming out later this year.

Alice in Chains - Unplugged - Great Band and even better lead singer...too bad I never saw the original band live

Hank Williams III - Straight to Hell A Big Ol' f**k you to the current country music scene, gotta love it!
