Albums You're Digging II

For some reason I couldn't make the connection considering he was already dead by then. My mistake. Oh and:

Roy Harper - Stormcock (1971)

Hey. Pay attention, you indie-folk clowns. This is how it's done right. Beautiful vocal and guitar arrangements yield a simple yet extraordinary folk album. Hats off.

Pantha du Prince - The Bliss

I have no idea what's up with this guy's name, the story behind it if any, but I find it pretty lame. The music, however, is quite smooth. I guess it's basically microhouse/arabient techno/minimal techno. I don't listen to too much in this style (except arabient techno, much of which gets mixed up with IDM), but this caught my eye on another forum and it's very melodic and smooth stuff. There are a few 10+ minute songs but they just fly right by you. Not in the sense that they're so minimal you don't notice it's there, but more like it's so smooth it's like you're just cruising on the freeway through some beautiful lanRABcapes or something, in no rush to get anywhere, just enjoying the ride on the smooth German-engineered roaRAB.

Cane and Able - Cane and Able (1972)

Not heard this in a long time, only just ripped it to my hard drive. A nice bit of Funk and Psychedelic Soul. Not great but still enjoyable.

I really love some tracks on there. Cluster One, Wearing the Inside Out, High Hopes and Marooned are all really great tracks in my mind. I'm not as high on things like Take it Back, but there are definitely really great tracks on there. Gilmour's guitar work is great too of course.

Iron Maiden - Piece of Mind

Every couple years or so I have a day where I have an intense urge to listen to this album. Takes me straight back to my late middle school/early high school days. Here's to trying to sing like Bruce ****inson at the top of my lungs in the car.

Rinse 01 - Geeneus.

This was my first proper introduction to grime and dubstep. You can't knock Geeneus' song choices, or his mixing. Dark dark compilation.

Our Favourite Shop - The Style Council.

Due to the brutal bashing Weller recieved, this is the first I've listened to this album and I have to say I'm impressed. I'd like to see others come out of being the 'social class' commentator and go on to something as diverse as this.

Grotesque (After the Gramme)
This Nation's Saving Grace
The Frenz Experiment
The Real New Fall LP

I guess it's only 4, but I have a few others on my computer that I've heard some songs from while shuffling. I'm just not into their style for the most part.

halfway through this and every song so far is stellar. idk about the rest of the album, but if it's as good as the first half then i'm looking at one of my top hip-hop cRAB

Koenjihyakkei are pretty awesome, but the world of zeuhl is quite large: banRAB like Universal Totem Orchestra, Corima and Ruins do much for the genre's reputation!

Global Underground 29 - Sharam (Dubai)

Double house CD from back in 2006 by Sharam (half of Deep Dish). The second disc on this is more upbeat and clubby sounding house, but its all about disc 1. An extremely slow, brooding, mellow mix that never fails when you just wanna chill out and relax.

The 1st song on here, DYAD 10 - Sugar (Sweet Thing) [Nicka & Alse Remix], sets the tone for whats to follow so well. It's also a song that's way up there on my list, as far as favorites go.

This mix has been a favorite of mine for years, and I'm really diggin it atm so I thought I'd throw it up here. :D
