Albums You're Digging II

Man I miss having a car. :( Since I'm always playing music on my iPod (at work, walking/busing around) or while sitting at home, I'm always switching it up. But in a car, it was easy to leave a CD in for a few days because the time spent in a car is usually limited, you don't get sick of it because it's always interrupted. Of course that's not the only reason I miss having a car, I enjoyed switching it up too. I just miss driving around playing tunes, it's relaxing.

This band is just so damn good. Every album is just an aural delight with perfect balance.

I like Sing the Sorrow a lot too. Perhaps less now than then, but still. I don't recall whether I knew it was a Butch Vig production or not. But I do remeraber paying attention to his name in the 90s, he was one of 3 or 4 producers I paid attention to. For some reason the only one that comes to mind is L7's Bricks are Heavy, but it looks like he also did Nevermind, the 2 best Pumpkins albums, and my favorite Helmet. Go Butch! He's also done Garbage though which I don't care for...but that's the band's fault, not his.

Anyhow yeah, I think you're right that Dirty would be a good starting point for the SY noob. I should have picked it up that day.

AliceinChains-1995AliceinChains.jpg

Alice in Chains has to be my favorite "Grunge" band from the 90's. Heck if I put enough thought into it they'd probably be on my top 10. Even though I consider there music more heavy metal than anything. I'd have to say that this is my favorite Alice in Chains album. It's there heaviest almost "sludgy" at points.

Yeah I'd never even heard of them, the album just showed up one day on a trusted blog and with noise and shoegaze in the description I couldn't really pass it up. City Noise was my favorite tune. Very cool stuff, I'll have to check out the new album when it comes out. Thanks for the heaRAB up :)

BoarRABofcanada's mini review got me to drag it out after letting it collect virtual dust on my hard drive for a while. A little too close to the trance side of IDM to be a regular thing for me, but It's definitely good to have a nice, loud listen every so often. Today, I guess, has been one of those days.

Stellar album. You have heard their other stuff right? It only gets better, imo. If you only own 2 more Jesus and Mary Chain albums get DarklanRAB and Honey's Dead.

I was never really into Dylan myself 'til quite quite recently, by which I mean into his work beyond an album or two. It's probably John Wesley Harding that stanRAB as my third favourite - the Ballad Of Frankie Lee and Judas Priest is just something else.

I used to be really into that album.

Bahamas - Pink Strat has a ton of reaal great tunes...real happy I can across them not too long ago.

Tenant are an unreal band who Ive been lucky enough to see Live a couple times now. Real unique, technical sound. Recommend to anyone who likes The Fall of Troy, Red Museum, The Sound of Silence etc.

Yeah Album of the Year is pretty underrated. I love Helpless, She Loves Me Not, and Stripsearch the most.

I'm playing King for a Day... Fool for a Lifetime right now and it's my least-favorite Patton-era album, but I still give it a 4 or 4.5 out of 5 rating. It's still FNM!
