Albums You're Digging II

Ours - Mercy (Dancing for the Death of an Imaginary Enemy)

Ours has been my favourite band for a while, and they again deliver on their third album. The majority of this album is solid with a couple weak tracks. Still, a pretty dope album.
Fave Tracks: Willing, The Worst Things Beautiful, Saint, Black, God Only Wants You

Lil Wayne - Tha Carter III

Weezy puts out a decent album here. Most of the tracks are pretty dope, but this album has a little too much filler. For the most part, I dig this album.
Fave Tracks: Let the Beat Build, Lollipop, A Milli, Phone Home, You Ain't Got Nuthin', Mr. Carter, Dr. Carter

I wouldn't class Galaxie 500 as Shoegaze, I'd say they were 'Dream Pop', even though both genres cross over and they do share similarities, I do think they and a band like Ride are totally different. Really great album though.

Just one of the reasons why i believe, despite America's complacency about all things music, that the UK really do rule the roost much more than they're ever given credit for:

Everything But the Girl - Temperamental

This album's so sexy you can set off smoke alarms by listening to it too loud. One of the ultimate night-listening albums.

Funeral - 5/5
The Suburbs - 4.5/5
Neon Bible 3.5/5

Still, it's a pretty good album. Well worth getting but it's not as good as Funeral or The Suburbs.

Actually I was referring to Sparta, I don't think AtD-I are particularly "lite", though obviously not the most hardcore either. :D

This album contains a string of songs that I find absolutely STELLAR ("Hairless Heart" all the way through "Anyway", minus "The Waiting Room" which is ok but not 5*, plus a few other very good tracks), and then some absolute garbage that makes the thing drag on and on and on. I like/don't mind the atmospheric & instrumental stuff, but tracks like "Riding The Scree" get on my nerves and "It" is absolutely TERRIBLE. This is one of the very few albums in my collection from which I pick and choose tracks. I'll often start at "Hairless Heart" and end at "Anyway", all the while wishing the entire thing was as good. Such a wide range of quality here.

Had that a while and feel the same way, pretty good the first time but my perseption hasn't really changed over time...still don't know what I think. Time for another spin soon.

Star - Devastator

There's a very good chance that this is my favorite new-ish shoegaze album (excluding SSVIIB, they can't be beaten).

Constant recurring favorite CD - After Everything Now This - The Church. I am indeed, diggint his album right now as I post this!

Why, look, its even the very album cover that makes up my avatar.... indeed!

Less sad, but more mad (in the insane sense). I'd say Toby has descended into insanity; The way he cries "MY HEARTTTTT WASSSSSS LIIIKKKEEEE A CRUMPLED PIECE OF PAPERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR" on "Whisper Ineffable" is proof positive of it.

ha, i got 'the Legacy' today, just giving it a second spin. 'Burnt Offerings' is surely the classic off that one. Was listening to 'Amongst the Living' earlier also, probably my favourite thrash album.
