Albums You're Digging II

Erik Truffaz - Arkhangelsk

sooooo good. i love all his albums, but i just can't stop listening to this one. Nya makes his usual appearance, but he's actually overshadowed by the apperance of Ed Harcourt, who really makes this album shine. if you like jazzy sounRAB, check it out.

i also just grabbed Crustation - Bloom. no real verdict yet, but it seems to be a solid trip-hop album with a very unique sound - i think it's worth keeping around.

Around the Fur and White Pony are the next two for ya, Alfred. I feel like Around the Fur is the heavier one and White Pony is the better "pop metal" album, but I'm no Deftones expert so somebody correct me if I'm wrong...

Jaguar Wright - Divorcing Neo 2 Marry Soul
Jaguar Wright has a very confident attitude that shows in her voice. Her vocals are not over the top and doesn't have to be. She can sing and doesn't need to create an illusion of talent.
Favorite Songs: Free, Told Ya, Flower, Do Your Worst

Wow, I am really blown away how damn Good the new Moby album is... it sounRAB to me like a darker, more grown up, mature and more compelling 18, or even Play.... bit the emotion is all there, theres a deep sense of feeling and although this has less dancefloor get up and go, it makes an excellent chillout record... I love it, already!

lol, that's what I used to do too. So I would end up buying a lot of record label compilations with like 20 songs for 3 bucks. There's a lot of energy in this album. A lot of killer bass parts. Super raw sound, just like punk rock should be. If I'm listening to a prog record, I expect the exact opposite though.

The only thing i had heard from this band was that awful single "Mountains" that was in the charts a few years ago and dismissed them as a poor pop band. But then I got recommend this album from a friend and it really knocked my socks off.

Incredible chill-out/jazzy type compilation that I picked up about a year ago, and will never grow tired of. Introduced me to the work of Parov Stelar and quite a few other great artists. This entire comp makes me think of just chilling on a lonely beach on a perfect sunny day of 72 degrees and just a slight breeze blowing past.

Mors Principium Est - Inhumanity (link is for entire discography, which consists of three albums)

I'd never heard of this band before today when someone recommended it to me and I'm certainly digging it. I've only made my way through this one album, but I'm planning on giving the others a listen sometime. Anyway, it's some very cool stuff and right up my alley.

I have had both these albums on constant rotation since 7.30 this morning and i'm still not bored of them.

In fact I might do it again tomorrow seeing they're both really cool albums.

Definitely the Sunset Tree, it was the first album I got and it's not as lo-fi, which could make it more accessible. I do say All Hail West Texas is his best though and should be album nuraber 2 to get, Tallahassee being #3.

Pixies: Surfer Rosa
Pixies: Doolittle
I know it took me a while but I'm just now discovering the Pixies. Wow I was missing out!

Scratch Acid: The Greatest Gift
Another Kurt Cobain recommendation.. it's pretty good, but it takes me a while to get into Low-Fi recordings.

Lightning Bolt: Hypermagic Mountain
Amazing Noise Rock album from Amazing noise rock band Lightning Bolt. Sheer intensity and musical nonsense! Listen with an open mind!

PiL: First Issue
I don't like much about Public Image Limited... Metal Box (the supposed best) just didn't impress me. I know what went wrong... I should have listened to this first.

Geronimo Jackson: Magna Carta
I love the classic 70's! Geroninmo Jackson is one of my favorite pop/rock groups from that era! Every song from "Little House Doggie" to "Mine Mine" is a classic!

Driveshaft: Oil Change
Great! But I prefer the first Driveshaft Album.
