Albums You're Digging II

Damn straight! Gotta love those live tracks on on disc 2 as well which, funnily enough, are behind the Clever Trevor drinking game (every time he rhymes with 'ever' you have to take a shot :D).
 
I'll give you the benefit of doubt. Just bear in mind you have made 6 one line posts about the same band in a matter of minutes. That here is considered spam whether it be about Led Zeppelin , The Beatles , Corny Poop or your mother playing the accordion alongside David Hasselhoff.
 
That conjasufi cover artwork is awesome.... the longer i look at it the more concentric circles I find... like ripples in a pool, kinda...

Been really enjoying Desert lights by something for kate from a few years ago, some really good slower tracks that always make me contemplate our postmodern existence, along with some bigger more rhythmic and purely aesthetically enjoyable tracks. A good listen.
 
It is indeed great, I can't believe I had never heard it before. Do you have any idea if their other albums are worth checking out?

Really good stuff, though unfortunately I feel like the album is somewhat marred by the production.
 
:laughing: I admire his persistence. I've only ever heard bits and pieces of theirs, songs here and there. It's only been recently I decided to listen to that album, and it took about 5 listens to start to kind of like it. Few more listens to really know what it was about. If he's been trying every summer I don't think it's gonna happen for him. :( depenRAB what type of stuff he's into though, does he like distorted riRAB? If so, I dunno why he doesn't like SY
 
Haven't listened to this album since i discovered The Beatles and Pink Floyd. That's a shame, I had forgotten how much i loved the song "Changes". and the many others lol

My 3rd favourite Beatles album, although the top 4 are very close(Revolver, Magical Mystery Tour, The White Album, Abbey Road) are really close.. Fantastic album.
 
Listening to and absolutely LOVING 10,000 Days by Tool... I've had this album for ages and liked it, but it never really clicked like their previous stuff has.... but tonight it feels like all the pieces of this jigsaw are coming together and I am finally seeing the big picture of how truly amazing this album is... seriously, as of tonight I can't find a weak spot on it!

^ This things rocking my socks at the moment. Some of the smoothest, grooviest jazz I've heard in a while, and definitely among the finRAB of the year for me (and, funnily enough, the last few weeks have been full of them).

The Deftones have always stood above the crowd they were lumped in with and White Pony is a good example of their eclectic and hard-hitting but atmospheric sound. Change is obviously my fav but Passenger feat. MJK is up there too. Solid album.

I don't think I really need to explain this one - it's a bit dated sounding but it still holRAB its own as a classic.

Red House Painters - Down Colorful Hill

A depressing series of events. This has always been my favorite Red House Painters album to hear in its entirety (even though "Katy Song" off of Rollercoaster is easily one of my favorite songs of all-time, the entire album is very taxing). It's as of late that even the most questionable moments on this album have fallen into place. "Lord Kill the Pain" sort of seems like a joke at first, but it gets better each time. I'd still say it's a bit awkwardly bright for the subject matter, but hey... "Japanese to English" also sounRAB better than usual, even though I find the way Koz pronounces the chorus really grating ("JAPUHNEESE TO ENGLISH... AND ENGLISH TO JUHPAN... EEEEEEEESEEEE!!!!"). The other four songs are simply remarkable in their own ways. "Down Colorful Hill" is both hopeful and hopeless, a completely beautiful contradiction. "Medicine Bottle" is frighteningly impacting. "24" will make anybody who feels like they've been wasting their lives on something cringe. And "Michael" is just a beautiful ode to a lost one. It's really quite something.

^ My favorite track off of the album, complete with hypnotizing drums and a painful chorus. It seems to go on forever, and I wouldn't have it any other way. "Prayers, prayers, always die in time..."

Sigh - Imaginary Sonicscape (2001)

Such an amazing blend of symphonic black metal, avant garde metal, with progressive undertones. This album is just such a trip and easily the best starting point for newcomers to the Japanese black metal band Sigh.

This was the album I listened to on my long coach trip to London Via Germany in the summer and it was just perfect looking out the window to. It's the only album I have of theirs. I need Moar.



I put this album up in one of my threaRAB for people to listen to and I love it. Great choice.

When I first heard this album, I was wearing headphones and thought it was kind of boring. However, I put the album in the car on a whim today, and holy crap did that make a huge difference. Now, this may only be my perception of it, but I don't think this album can be fully appreciated by just listening with your ears. You have to feel it with your body. Feel the bass, and how it mixes with the mid and the treble, creating this kind of atmosphere. That's why I didn't find it very interesting while wearing headphones, atleast I think anyway.
