Albums You're Digging II

I've already listened to their self titled since I posted that. It's good. I was expecting more of that kind of sound in the video and instead got a balance between some slower, more experimental art/noise rock kind of stuff and dirty psychedelic rock. Not that it was a let-down though. The mixture of male/female vocals is really good too.

In Vain - The Latter Rain (2007)

Holy crap is this ever some good progressive death metal that doesn't sound like a rip off of Opeth. Seriously if you want a band similar to Opeth but completely different in sound, then this is a band to look up. Definitely something I'm going to give a listen to with headphones no and without distractions, and definitely a band I'm going to explore further.

Well, it's described as progressive rock, but the vocals on it (the female one especially) is just simply gorgeous. And the music is top notch. Check this just random track out:

I put this album on a few days ago for my first NMH experience and i couldn't even get through it. I think i lasted about 5 or 6 tracks.

I have just listened to this for the first time this last week too and was thinking about posting this in this thread myself. It was a very enjoyable listen.

I don't remeraber Jack Black talking about Belle & Sabastian. Maybe I didn't know about them then, same with 500 Days of Summer.

I may have to rewatch both and spot the references. I'm gonna get a 3rd B&S album, I like the other one I heard. They seem like a great band.

^ A name I've been meaning to check out for a ridiculously long time now. I would've done earlier if his albums weren't rare as hen's teeth. Brilliant album this - comes across as gothic country to me, which is quite something considering this album was released in 1969.

^ Fast working its way up my list of favourites. I reckon it's Amorphous Androgynous' best album, coming up with a fantastic mix of arabient, down-tempo and neo-psychedelia. Another brilliant piece of work - still can't get enough of it.

^ And I very much doubt I'll ever get bored of this one.

one of the best albums i've heard this year, Aaron Turner just keeps getting better and better. probably the best thing they've done since Oceanic, and i'm not entirely convinced that was any better than this.

Emancipator - Soon It Will Be Cold Enough

holy **** this is good music. i don't know if i should call it neo classical, post rock, or trip hop. it's a mish-mash of all three. find it. play it. dig it.

I point this out due to frustration every once in a while but it never does any good.

So...thank you people who actually write a couple sentences about the albums you post here. Otherwise, this may as well be the "last album you bought or downloaded" thread.
