Albums You're Digging II

Yeah, it's been on the carRAB for a while now. Apparently Cave wants it to sound a lot more considered and Bad SeeRAB-y this time round. Should be interesting to say the least.

Definitely my favorite new school Tom Waits album. Guys been putting out albums for over 35 years and he's still pushing the boundaries of reality.

I really don't want this thread to get pushed off the first page, it's one of the greatest ways of discovering new music.

Scarling. - So Long Scarecrow

Some kickass newer shoegaze/noise pop stuff. If you like either of these genres you'll probably enjoy it, their singer has a good voice.

Ratatat - LP3

Always entertaining experimental electronic stuff. Not too sure how to describe this one, but it's always a fun listen.

Tom Waits - Bone Machine
Tom Waits is a musician that has always really stood out to me. I love his music, reminRAB me of a few sideshow freaks jamming on the bayou. Bone Machine is probably my favorite of his albums (Swordfishtrorabones a close second.)

Excellent Italian Greyhound? Agreed, it definitely wasn't Shellac's best effort, but still enjoyed it quite a bit. Todd is one of my favourite drummers.

Have you heard Atomizer by Big Black? I always find it difficult to choose between that and Songs About Fucking, they are both so great. "Kerosene" is one of my favourite songs of all time.

How is math rock repetitive? Sure, some of the Philly emo-mathrock-American Football-wannabes are a bit similar in how they go about doing things, but math rock is usually extremely varied (within the song especially).

for example...

neither of these sound really much like each other and they're both considered 'math rock'. Also both these albums are from the last 2-3 years.

I love love love that Pelican album. I listen to it on long road trips and it seems to make the drive go by much faster.

As for albums I'm all over right now, I'm still enamored with Eels - Useless Trinkets. I've always been a huge Eels fan, so having all the b-sides and rarities on one album really excited me.

I'm digging the new Nine Inch Nails, which I feel isn't super duper, but it's still a solid listen.

Lastly, I've been listening to Sigur Ros a lot lately; mostly Takk and ( ). I think it's because the weather is getting nice, and I've always felt that they are great outdoorsy enjoying the sun music.

Fleetwood Mac—Tusk
Following along in my recent love affair with Fleetwood Mac, I got a hold of this. What a great album! I might like this even more than Rumours.
