Nice, nice. Honestly I picked this up cause I was looking for some of Yo-Yo Ma's cello stuff, but liked the samples when I checked them out. I don't know Mr. Ax or the other guy, but I mean, I like what I hear. He definitely kicks some ass on here. Way better than me, that's for sure. I love the piano, so I might look for more from him. :)

His early stuff was groundbreaking and all but to come back with this is pretty awesome. Has a soft southern rock sound kinda. Ice People, Fire and Brimstone, and Fallin' Rain are my favs.

I'm really digging 'Sound Awake' by Australian band Karnivool. It's taken them 4 years to put this album together but I think it was sort-of worth the wait. A corabination of melodic progressive rock and alternative rock, with alternative metal influences. If anyone's interested you know where to find me...

Beach House - Teen Dream
I'm thrall to this album at the moment. The haunting reverb-heavy vocals, gorgeous guitar lines, piano and touches of organ create a feeling of timelessness and melancholy reminiscent of My Morning Jacket's 'It Still Moves' album. It feels like a long lost classic rather than a new release in a new decade. There may be another 11 months left in this year but i can surely bet that this album will be high on people's best album lists. An incredibly heart-warming album

One of all-time favourite banRAB honestly. Have you heard Paul Dempseys solo album? It was in my top 3 favourite albums for 2009. Not one bad track. :bowdown:

Full of Radiohead - ish goodness and perfect for the unwinding listen that I required tonight... dunno what I am going to play next though...

Agree to disagree I think the production on here is great and it still sounRAB fresh despite it being almost 30 years. It definatley does hold up.

Zarko's review got me interested in getting this, as I enjoyed Tobin's 90's material, and now that I've got it I'm liking Supermodified quite a bit; dark jazz that's weird yet catchy and accessible all at once.
 
If people are that concerned then they can ask me what the album is if I don't note it down, it's not really something at the top of my agenda. I'll try remeraber next time though, boss.

Chris Murray Corabo - Why So Rude?
Amazing contemporary ska/rocksteady from a stripped down 3 piece corabo drums/upright bass/ acoustic guitar. Songs are catchy as all hell. Vocal harmonies are incredible. If you love 1st wave Jamaican ska & rocksteady you'll love Chris Murray's inventive twist on the genre.

Alright my musical tastes have be reborn in the past 6 months or so since I discovered Neil Young, Im not saying that Ragged Glory is his best album as he has many many great albums (I have nearly them all), but this is the album I keep coming back to. The first two tracks 'Country Home' & 'White Line' both originate from the 70s but you couldnt imagine them being played any better than on this record. This album is hard to define, its like a mixture of Country Rock & Grunge music at the time, also there are quite a few songs that start on solos and end on solos, also some go on for like 10 mins with 3 minute extended jams at the end of them. My personal favourite tracks would be: 'Country Home', 'Over & Over', 'Love To Burn', 'Mansion On The Hill', 'Love & Only Love'. It is really just such a great album- if you havent heard it then check it out- you will be hooked!.
 
I love Kyuss, but the transition period between the two sounRAB wasn't really my slice of cheese. You've got the heavy, downtuned psychedelia that Homme pioneered in Kyuss and he just sticks some falsetto in there and expects it to work. There were a few highlights to the album (I Was a Teenage Hand Model sticks out in particular) but apart from that there was little for me to cling onto. Rated R marks such a huge contrast in sound to the self-titled & split that I don't feel the necessity to guard them from open criticism.
