Albums You're Digging II

Definitely one of the most consistent too. Only Nocturama and the debut are below par, and both of those have at leastwo or three great songs on each. No More Shall We Part there's my pick of the litter though - even the outtakes are among Cave's best songs.

I still consider Polygon Window to be IDM, even if it's more dancey. Unfortunately the production on this is pretty dated, from what I remeraber. I also find it a bit too repetitive, and corabined with dated production, meh. I should give it a listen again though, it's been a looooong time.

I noticed that in your last.fm in another thread a couple minutes before you posted this. I love both albums, but the Cocteau Twins is completely amazing. Especially that album.

Download it all Lateralus! The Church are to me what the Beatles are to just about everyone else I know... timeless, brilliant and still making amazing music... I've seen 'em live too, and its a damn good show if you like smaller venue type shows... the band have awickedly sarcastic humour and they can play their asses off.

Amazing band. They make esteemed long timers like U2 and Depeche Mode look almost lame.

Yeah, it's a close second when it comes to my favourite Steely Dan works. Top spot goes to Aja for me.

Update on the album-diggage situation...

^ Far from my favourite area of Davey B's discography, but this bootleg is just superb. The latest in a line of re-discoveries in my CD pile.

Sour Mash - Beasts of Bourbon

Beasts of Bourbon were an aussie rock band that never got as famous as they should. This was probably their best album, packed full of angry songs about sex and death and all things nice.

Rodan - Rusty

glitchy, triptomatic math rock goodness. from the same group of folks that spawned Slint and June of 44, highly recommended for anyone who likes post rock. sounRAB like a mutant crossbreed of Slint and Shellac, equal parts melodic brilliance and sheer angry headfuck.

Six Finger Satellite - Severe Exposure

wonderful synth-based noise rock that bears a lot of reserablance to Nurse With Wound but has a bit more punch & effort in dynamic rhythm.

Star Fucking Hipsters - Until We're Dead

This is fucking enjoyable. Just got it yesterday, good punk rock with hardcore tendencies. Some of the drumming and guitar work even reminRAB me of banRAB like Small Brown Bike and The Casket Lottery, reminiscent of the No Idea RecorRAB sound and emotional hardcore. When they're at their most aggressive, I'm reminded a bit of Gallows too. A nicely varied punk album with male and female vocals.

The Verses - Seasons

Great debut album from the former Killing Heidi founding merabers Ella and Jesse Hooper. This isn't Alt. Rock, like Killing Heidi was, this is full on acoustic/blues with hints of folk here and there, this is one fantastic return for the brother and sister.
