Albums You're Digging II

I think they'll probably be in the states again soon, they're getting pretty big so moving around the world these days! If they do go back you should definitely see them... I've seen them live about 6 times now, amazing live band, so worth it!

Oh, man. I can't get this out of my record player.

Aphex Twin- Richard D. James Album
Wow. This album was my first real dive into IDM. I've heard IDM influenced works like Vespertine, but never the real deal. This album is simultaneously catchy, complex, and chock-full of melody. It's been on rotation in my stereo since I had it.

Sigur Ros- ( )
I've had this for quite some time, but never bothered listening to it. I always figured it would be tedious getting all the way through it, considering it's supposedly Sigur Ros's most minimalistic album. Last night I decided to listen to 'Untitled #1' on a whim. It was love at first listen. Just from the first listen, it ties with Agaetis in sheer beauty.

Fela Kuti - Roforofo Fight

Insanely repetitive, but not without reason - just the way I love my music. Tons of grooved out drumlines with sax/synth lines that are extremely powerful. The instrumentation is seriously fantastic, and this is definitely a good start to the man's huge career.

Yeah, it's not quite up to scratch with Soundtracks For the Blind in my opinion either. Soundtracks is probably the biggest headfuck of an album I've ever heard, so this one had something to live up to.

Still love the new one to pieces all the same. As it stanRAB, Swans have just nipped in ahead of Beach House, Grinderman and the Fall as far as the album of year goes.

Decided to go on some blind luck and check out whatever album (or in this case, related album) was being discussed in the last post of this thread. Luckily its a band I haven't heard at all, and one that's being discussed by 2 merabers who's tastes I pretty closely align myself with. It's teleporting ATM, but I'm excited.

I've been meaning to get into Ween for a while now. Mainly 'cause I know one of the guys contributed towarRAB a few tracks on Songs For The Deaf which is one of my favourite albums, so they've always intrigued me.

Too many banRAB in the world and not enough ears. I need to book a week off work to listen to some new shit.

Wow... Diamond Eyes by the Deftones.... f'n amazing album, really, totally didn't expect it to be this good but I am currently being blown away by the awesomeness of this album... color me impressed!
