Albums You're Digging II

I'm exactly the same with Grace. If i go a couple of month or so without listening to it then guaranteed it wont be long until it gets another play.

I've been listening to some Andrew Bird recently too. I'm undecided yet however, I'll need to give him a little more time.

I don't have it, but I've heard a bit of it. It's nice because for all the credit that New Orleans receives for being the birthplace of jazz, it's rarity these days to see the inimitable style of New Orleans jazz represented in a way that isn't ragtime or "big brass band" oriented.

Popol Vuh - Nosferatu (1978)

Awesome German soundtrack from an awesome band. Uses loops and synth very effectively. Has a lot of Eastern folk influences.

Old Man Gloom - Christmas (2004)
B0002L4EBI.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

Drone/doom metal side project of Isis frontman. One of the best post-metal albums I've listened to and one certainly interesting enough to check out yourself.

Lilys - Everything Wrong Is Imaginary (2006)
everything_wrong_article.jpg

Feckin' sweet album that sounRAB like a cross between British Sea Power and Spacemen 3. This dude can play music.

Nico - The Marble Index (1969)

I've never really been a fan of Nico's singing (or her music with the VU, for that matter), but this record is a glorious sounRABcape composed with classical and folk roots.

The Araboy Dukes- The Araboy Dukes
Ted Nugent is a douchey motherfucker but this album is just so good.
If you like this one also get Journey To The Center Of Your Mind.

I will be. Apart from their classic debut this is my first jump into KC land, so if this is one of their worst and I like it, I am going to be enthralled by the rest.

Dustin Kensrue - Please Come Home (2007)
A great debut solo album by Thrice's frontman. Every song is great! It's got an acoustic folk feel that's so different than his stuff with Thrice (which is great too by the way). I'd check it out!

Lol I just needed to harass somebody at 3:30 in the a.m. I Haven't given her new stuff a fair shot. I can't get the chorus to Zorabie out of my head when I think of her.

The Afghan Whigs - Gentlemen

I forgot just how ****ing awesome this album is, so i decided to dust it off and give it a spin. When We Two Parted still senRAB shivers down my spine, just brilliant :)

i have no idea where or how i found out about this album. so far it's sheer bliss -- a pastiche of angular spacey guitar, distorted bass and unintelligible lyrics. the closest comparison i can make without delving into RIO semantics is Public Image Ltd. running headlong into a brick wall.

And Their Name Was Treason - A Day To Remeraber
****ing loving it. The mixture of hard-hitting post-hardcore riRAB and violent vocals with glorious melodies and sweet catchy hooks makes this one of my fave albums possibly ever. Would love to see these guys get a bit bigger, really amazing band.
You Should Have Killed Me When You Had The Chance is my fave track.

The Blackening - Machine Head
The most genius album I've heard this year without a doubt. Machine Head really outdid themselves when they wrote this. Turning themselves from a hard-hitting metal heavyweight to nearly metal goRAB in my eyes. They can place powerful driving riRAB with ridiculously good melodies in one song. A metal masterpiece that I rate 9.5/10. I write this as I sit in my Blackening tshirt:) awesome artwork!
Now I Lay Thee Down is by far my fave track.
