Albums You're Digging II

Y'know once you realise that later Modest Mouse is actually really damn good you'll lead a much happier life :)

Anyway, this album is making me feel good right now..

Well that would be my third choice, but I wouldn't call it particularly essential.

This makes me want to do Supertramp in "This Album > That Album," but I think I'd have to go back and reassess.

haha. u old (at least you grew up w/ the good shit)

now's as good a time as any to check out Red Kross i suppose.

'Failure', the first Posies album, is astounding too, those guys knew what they were doing. The production is not as polished as Beater and lacks the distorted geetars (wouldn't be surprised if the record co. had sommat to do with that) - stripped of that they sound much more 60s.

My brother found this after I thought I lost it months ago. Its still in good condition, too. I've listened to it about 3 times in the past 24 hours.

I've been digging on this one, too. Thanks to Lat for introducing us.

Really? I saw him about a month and a half ago and he put on a pretty entertaining show. Not what I'd call energetic but still good. The crowd was really into it though, that might have been part of it.

All I Need is a magnificent song though... I was thinking more of the sound and rhythm of the track.... Thom's world view is much darker, All I Need, to me is more about being impoverished for love, food, attention, whatever, than it being a song about being deeply in love with someone....

Hells yes! I've been on this major stoner/doom kick lately and am really digging this. It's really heavy and druggy like you'd expect, but also has kind a different aesthetic from the typical album of the genre.

Great choice, I love that album's replay value.

My album would be Lowercase's 'The Going Away Present'.

I'll be dangerous and say this feels like a blend of Slint and American Football. The darkness of Slint, but with less math rock elements and more of an emotional approach that American Football had. Either way, fantastic album.

Recently downloaded these and I'm enjoy both of them. It's my second Animal Collective album and it's different from Merriweather Post Pavilion. But in a good way. Not really sure which one I like more.

CunninLynguists I'd only heard snatches of before but I'm really glad I got this. It's damn good. I've been trying to find more hip-hop lately cause I don't have that much, but when hiphop clicks with me I really really enjoy it.

Recent favorite of mine. From nu-jazz to trip-hop to IDM, this release touches upon a variety of electronic genre thresholRAB and weaves them into a dozing, electrical tapestry of awesome. Ideal nightowl music for you all methinks!
