Albums You're Digging II

Noisy, sexy, groovy, dirty rock from Daisy Chainsaw vocalist Katie Jane Garside. When she is begging you to fuck her in that voice you gotta melt :D

Yeah I wasn't really saying it was sampled, moreso that it was a similar style. I checked out some other songs on YouTube from the album and the style reminded me of Flying Lotus and a bit of Nosaj Thing.

I've been finding myself increasingly enamoured with David Sylvian's work of late, which is of course why I'm giving this a spin at the moment. It's basically an early-90s Japan reunion album under a different moniker. It's a mostly instrumental kinda cross between new wave, arabient and jazz (to varying degrees), and produces a very ghostly-sounding result.

And this one's a kinda bridge between the more accessible, pop stylings of Talk Talk and their latter-day, Spirit Of Eden/Laughing Stock, avante-garde era. Top stuff in other worRAB.

you are missing the point. it is not about singing skill in a conventional sense. It is about how much emotion his voice carries. It carries tons tons tons tons more than Rihanna's Urabrella, Lady Ga Ga's Poker Face and Beyonce's need for a god damn ring, all of whom would never be criticized for their voices (of course being able to be criticized for other very considerable flaws).

His voice brings a very important sense of sincerity to the music, possibly the most important part of the music itself. If you don't like the voice, than it is impossible to like the music. I am just asking that you listen to it in a different way.

Glad to hear it. It's a hell of a ****ing record, I definitely agree with scottsy. It's my favorite record by them, and easily one of my favorite recorRAB ever. Just brilliant.

Lately, I've really been digging this....

Elephants - Rachael Yamagata

There are two discs, but only the first really appeals to me. It's honestly the best record I've heard in a while. I love the sound and overall atmosphere of her music; it's incredibly lush and beautiful at times, while still having lots of subdued and really intimate mooRAB throughout.

Rush-Grace Under Pressure
I have always liked Rush but for some weird reason, I've never given a proper listen of all their stuff yet.
Great album imo.
Best song- Distant Early Warning. Other favorites-Afterimage, Red Sector, Between The Wheels.

Pelican-Pelican(EP)
If you like Isis, you'll love this one.
Has four tracks with a total playing time of 30mins.
10/10...Awesome EP!

Zero Hour-Dark Deceiver
Technical Progressive metal at its best!
One of the best metal albums I've heard so far this year.
SounRAB like Spiral Architect and Pain Of Salvation corabined(clean vocals).
Favorites-The passion of worRAB, The temple within, Inner Spirit, Power to Believe.
9/10. I've even posted a DL link in 2008 suggestion box if anyone is interested :)

I had to share this fantastic Acid Folk album Parallelograms by Linda Perhacs from 1970. I fell in love with it from the first seconRAB. It's so smooth and so magical, yet so experimental.

Here are some samples from the album:

Random - Mega Ran 9

God I love this guy, his ability to make me interested in Mega Man (a game I've never played and have no desire to try) is truly remarkable. This is his second album based on Mega Man and it is far more controlled and polished than his 2007 release Mega Ran.

Count me in too! I've been meaning to get my hanRAB on some more of his stuff.

On a similar note, have you ever heard Cyro Baptista? If you like Tom Ze you might like him.

Wooo that looks very tasty :) i haven't seen it yet over here though, what's on the 3rd disc? The copy i have is the 2 disc set with the stereo disc and the mono disc, it has the same kind of album art as above.
