Crystal Fighters - Star of Love

Electronic insanity is all I have to say. If this video doesn't make you feel like you just munched on a mushroom sandwich, then you must be braindead.

The truth is spoken! I was actually talking about this very thing the other day down the pub - it's amazing what a pint or two of Guinness does for conversation. Peter Garret's compromised his beliefs long enough, so the sooner he gets out of politics the better.

That Scream In Blue album is ace btw (great song too). There's a bootleg of an acoustic gig of theirs from 1993 I think which is one of my most played bootlegs - top-drawer stuff.

Been spinning both of these today. I can't get enough of that voice, and some of the songs are just plain fun to sing.

My all time favorite song of his is "Bring It On Home to Me"...which just happens to appear on both these albums. Wonderful.

I'm glad that you enjoyed it regardless of it being more so what you wanted. I'm not going to lie, none of my recommendations really sound like Kayo Dot, but they all kick ass like Arcturus did.

^ Ram is pretty damn cool stuff eh. Durabarse lyrics, but the music makes up for that with me. Good choices of favourite tracks too (despite the failure to mention Smile Away ;)).

^ Midnight Oil's Earth and Sun and Moon, the third in a trilogy of absolutely superb albums that I'd recommend to anyone, this one finRAB them taking the more anthemic and melodic direction that they started with Diesel and Dust to its fullest extent. Quite possibly my favourite of their albums this. Now Or Never Land and Feeding Frenzy are two of those songs that simply everyone neeRAB to hear.

Had this sitting on my HD for well over a year and finally got around to giving it a go. Instrumental 70's progressive rock/jazz fusion featuring Roxy Music's Phil Manzanera and Brian Eno. Not bad at all I have to say.

Wow noise, nice pick...
I don't like hip-hop or rap or anything like that but I seriously dug that. That was, like you said, intense. Had a haunting, atmospheric feel to it. A little like some of recent Anathema but if they had a guest rapper. :D

...I'm in shock.

Martina Topley-Bird - Quixotic

Stunning trip-hop tinged pop. Martina was the vocalist from Tricky...she definitely seems to know what she is doing on her own as well.

So far today's listening has led me through...

Moby - 18 and 18 - B - Sides

and...

Scratch My Back - peter Gabriel...

More musical goodness to listen to tonight!

This has stood the test of time for me a bit better than the classic Metallica albums. Part of it, as you said, is probably track lengths even though I had never thought of that. I really love the production of this album. It's so awesome. I remeraber the anticipation surrounding this album release, and the epic long Hanger 18 video getting hyped on MTV.
