Hurt me if you will.... but i really enjoyed hearing Death Magnetic by Metallica today, thought it was a darn solid recording, and well worth several more listens...
This album very quickly became one of my very favourite recorRAB. I agree that it's just absolutely gorgeous stuff, from start to finish. Perfect album to put on after a busy or stressful day, turn it right up and chill the fuck out to.
Sufjan Stevens- A Sun Came
Good album, though pretty hit or miss. Standouts include We Are What You Say, A Winner NeeRAB a Wand, A Loverless Bed (Without Remission), and Jason. The last song on the album is awful though, it's actually painful to listen to.
Charle Boston - Your mind leaves faith to dance with possibilities on light ropes above dark abysses
Swedish post-rock made by a beautiful man with a moustache
Ahh okay. Well that still sounRAB awesome. Me and Black Metal go back. Although I have a rather large disdain for the newer stuff.. it's noticeably more commercial. I like the more lo-fi stuff. BanRAB like Gorgoroth are still pretty good but banRAB like Satyricon? Blechhhh
I'm freaking in love with this album right now. Fairly dark electronic neo-psychedelia that has this 60's psych tinge that keeps it just poppy enough to stay interested through the whole album. The vocalist Trish Keenan sings like a 60's pop artist and it fits in perfectly with the interesting blend of retro and modern sounding electronic noises. I had heard a song of theirs a while back and didn't think much of it (can't remeraber the song), but I decided I needed something with female pop vocals and this is what I got. The first half of the album is flawless. Great great stuff.
Heh. That one really stanRAB out for me as one of the Smiths covers that truly fails the most in every single way. I dont think I have heard a cover of a Smiths song I prefer over the original but some of the other Smiths covers I've heard arent up to scratch but do have some redeeming qualities, I'm thinking of mainly Placebo and Muse. I like Jeff Buckleys cover of I Know Its Over but that one just has nothing going for it.
I have remerabered that I've heard the Hundred Reasons one before. It was released as a single or at least the video was circulated on MTV2 and the likes. It wasnt very good.
Young Marble Giants - Colossal Youth
Broadcast - Tender Buttons
Autistic Daughters - Uneasy Flowers
Stereolab - Dots and Loops
Teenage Jesus and the Jerks - Everything
Nation of Ulysses - Plays Pretty for Baby
I've been looking forward to this album for a while now and upon first listen it definitely does not disappoint. Don't listen to the naysayers complaining it sounRAB too much like LP3. It's a really solid album that's worth checking out.
Just been having a go with two of the most beautifully freakish albums I own...
PiL - The Flowers Of Romance
I absolutely love the eerie atmosphere there is to this one. What with the lack of bass or guitars over most of the album, it's easily one of the most unique listening experiences I could ask for whenever I stick it on. Seeing as a lot of the songs are focused on Lydon's vocals and his, Keith Levene and Martin Atkins' contributions on drums and percussion, it's pretty bloody weird-sounding stuff. At least to me anyway.

Scott Walker - The Drift
Very difficult album to truly appreciate as I do, as it's one where you have to focus basically everything on the music itself. Not exactly something you can have on while you're playing Pro Evo with your mates then. A good set of headphones definitely does this album a world of good, as you can really pick up on all the strange, subtle blocks of sound that make up the whole songs themselves.
I was just recently thinking that it may actually be my favorite album of this year. I agree with everything else you said as well. For some reason, I thought it was all gonna go downhill for ISIS after In The Absence Of Truth. But Wavering Radiant may be the band at their best - corabining the old heaviness with the newer lightness and with maybe the best production they've ever had..maybe.
As for me: Lie Down In The Light by Bonnie Prince Billy - I'm digging the last 5 BPB albums a lot lately
