Albums You're Digging II

Such a cool little mix, there's some talent to be found in the Chinese music scene. It's still rather eclectic for a 'pop' mix, featuring artists such as Carsick Cars who have opened for Sonic Youth to China Dub SounRABystem and China MC Brothers, just great. Some of the songs are absolutely grating but overall I'm left thoroughly impressed.

I just read up on that and found it. I have just listened and it is a good song as well. Not on the album I am listening to so I now intend to explore more.

Post-Rock is the kind of genre where it always has a nice, wintery feel to it. That's why in the winter, I tend to listen to more post-rock than in the summertime.

Well, just in case if you don't remeraber, the 14 minute mark is a bit droney sounding, with loud pounding drums. Also, now that we're talking about GY!BE, I feel like listening to Lift Yr. Skinny fists again, but I'll have to find the time since I just downloaded 27555 albums, and I probably need to listen to them :(

It's a shame they broke up, they have a very similar sound to Suis La Lune (my favorite screamo band), amazing twinkly guitar work, very good vocals for the genre, just a very good album.

Currently in my mini-stereo:

Never heard of them.

I've been meaning to get this, strictly on the strength of "Black Rice" from their first album - because I didn't like the rest of the album all that much. Your comparison so Swell Maps and Wire surprises and interests me. How do you think the album differs from their debut?

Ahhhhh, enjoying the mostly soothing sounRAB of Australia's Augie March... man, when these guys wanna create a serene and beautiful texture in a song, they can sure do it well! Most of their debut album, Sunset Studies is wonderfully epic textured experience of an album... Their latest, Watch me Disappear is kinda half and half.... some really great rockin' stuff but some of those nice mellow songs too... perfect for the end of day unwind....

Brompton Oratory's definitely one of my absolute favourite songs of his. I just love how simplistic the arrangement is yet how it hits home in a way that only a precious few others do. Far From Me is probably the best bit of angst I've ever heard too.
