Albums You're Digging II

Lansing-Dreiden - A Sectioned Beam

I finally downloaded this EP recently, second listen this week. And I dig it. It's always hard for me to describe this band's sound. Poppy, dreamy, spacey, 60s and 80s influence, maybe a touch of shoegaze, F if I know. Mostly just beautiful pop. I just like their sound. Soothing vocals and melodies.

First album of what promises to be a lengthy playlist tonight... Infinity by Devin Townsend.... f u c king amazing album, of such varied, but damn good fun sounRAB.... but also manages to be heavy and FUN all at once.... this is bloody fantastic!

Fair enough, my jazz artists are more of the doom/ noir styled banRAB, so that would definitely influence my idea of what dark jazz is.

ROFL. It's one of the finest 80's Metal albums that rarely get's a mention. Good choice Urban, Sorcerers is a storming track. As for NWOBHM I recently got this and it's solid stuff with a very small Prog/Symphonic edge:

Ahhh, but Murmur is indeed a gigantic step forward, and indeed a very note worthy cultural artefact... the best thing is it's also a very strong cohesive album...

LOL. SOD is great though.

I made an acid bath this weekend. My tub was clogged so I poured some really strong drain cleaner in there, very acidic shit, and forgot how much is stank the last time I used it in the toilet of my last apartment (though that time it was mixed with the smell of actual shit). So yesterday, my entire apartment smelled like a frickin meth lab, or what I think a meth lab might smell like. And since I frequently smell what neighbors are cooking when I get home (the aroma permeating the hallways), I think it's fair to assume that I made my entire apartment complex smell like a meth lab. It was awful, and lingered a while throughout my entire apartment. I probably have lung cancer now, and my neighbors too. Acid bath.

I'm actually getting back into the Mountain Goats again, John Darnielle is a fantastic lyricist and while the music and instrumentation on this album is simple and nothing groundbreaking, the lyrics to these songs pack so much meaning and power that the I actually feel the misery of the Alpha couple.

This album is just so much fun to listen to, I highly recommend listening to this band because they are just so happy and cute and they will put you in a good mood.

It sounRAB like a swedish girl with a lot of vocal effects put over her voice with new age synthy sounRAB all around it.

It's surprisingly good.

I don't know why the majority of the albums released in the 60s include some weird dialogs between the band merabers and usually the insertion of the sentence "Hello? Operator?" in the middle of it all. Tho I have to admit, I love those goofy things. The stupider, the better.
