Squeeze-45s and Under
Doing as last.fm orders me and furthering my love of New Wave pop music.Really like this lot, although Cool For Cats is completely aytpical. They're much more along the lines of XTC or Joe Jackson than the Ian Dury comparisons that track would bring to mind. This here would be much more representative.

I'm completely addicted to this album. Infectious trip-hop, the first half with plenty of world influences and great beats while the second has a more rocky feel. The singer's vocals are gorgeous too.
Bob Dylan - Love and Theft
Basically, I'm a huge fan of that trio of later Dylan albums; Time Out Of Mind, the Modern Times and, of course, this one. Don't get me wrong though, Together Through Life still sucks hard, seeing as it ended a chain of great albums like these. Full of some great, old-timer blues and rock 'n' roll - love it!

Not to mention a certain album I'm meant to be reviewing for the old Weekly Trade thing, which I should have posted fairly soon...
Basically, I'm a huge fan of that trio of later Dylan albums; Time Out Of Mind, the Modern Times and, of course, this one. Don't get me wrong though, Together Through Life still sucks hard, seeing as it ended a chain of great albums like these. Full of some great, old-timer blues and rock 'n' roll - love it!

Unsane—"Occupational Hazard"
I don't know where I was or what I was doing that I missed this album back when it came out ten years ago, but man is it good. Wikipedia describes them as noise rock. iTunes lists them as stoner metal. They sound like hardcore to me. But whatever you label them as, this album is some really badass music.

I LOVE this EP, so perfect and much more solid than the LP. I think the one with the cover you posted is a reissue with bonus tracks or remixes though, I'm speaking of the original 5-track release. These guys were great live, too. I'm wondering when they'll have something new.

Lucinda Williams - World Without Tears
Fairly slow stuff in the main, and just as well-written and produced as anything else of her's I've heard. It's an album for adults when all's said and done, ie something that any of us who've been round the block a few times and through quite a bit can really relate too. My joint-favourite album from possibly my favourite American singer/songwriter of the last 10-15 years.

This is one epic masterpiece for this mid level exsposure Australian indie band... from the opening strums of Fathers HanRAB to its conclusion in Love as Fiction, it goes bluesy, yearning, arty, heck even a little experimental..... one monumentally great, overlooked album, which I'd recommend anyone pick up... even if you have to wait for shipment...

Really? I find it to be ... Well, just OK. That is, if we are comparing them to other DEP albums, and we most definitely are. This one didn't do it for me, and maybe it's because I've never been a hardcore DEP fan. It took me awhile to get into them, and when I did, there were just a few of albums that I liked. At this point, the vocals have changed so much. Aside from the elements of mathcore, the vocals are showcased in all their albums, so naturally, with my existing appreciation for Mike Patton, Irony is a Dead Scene was my favorite. Now, if we're talking about DEP without Patton, I'm going with Calculating Infinity and Ire Works. Even so, the vocals are a bit hard for me to swallow in all three that I listed. The vocals in Option Paralysis ruined the album for me - especially when he's just singing.

I'm getting towarRAB concentrating more on writing than forumy/musicy stuff (so I haven't exactly been branching out much recently) and these albums have provided my musical backdrop;
^ This is working its way towarRAB becoming my favourite Church album. It's kinda like Starfish's darker, longer and ultimately hotter cousin.
^ Rare as hen's teeth (or at least it was when I was looking for a copy), it's kind of like a middle-ground between the guy's earlier material and his later, gloomier, more experimental stuff. Very good album, even if it does lose its touch during the second half slightly.
^ One of those truly great, latter-day Bowie albums that a lot of people disregard.
^ And some Keith HuRABon to lighten things up a bit.
