Albums You're Digging II

I have to second that comment. Couldn't say it better myself! I really like NAIHF right now, it's been growing on me :)

I think it blenRAB the raw Monster sound with the type of vibe found on Automatic for the People. But that's just my opinion :)

Favourite tracks: Low Desert, Undertow, How the West Was Won, E-Bow the Letter.

Do you listen to other genres of metal besides black metal? Over the last year I've noticed you really only sticking to black metal and then of course your trance/ electronic music.

I really started to get into metal when I was about 15-16, but that was mostly local stuff to Vancouver and finally then I started exploring the Scandinavian scene. I was always aware of black metal's existence, however I also heard about the church burnings and a grossly exaggerated story regarding Mayhem in the early '90's. It kind of turned me off and I didn't really start to look into it until I heard a few albums like Sigh's Sonicscape (Which you'd probably hate :P) and then I started exploring it. By then I was 18 and I think a lot of the things about black metal that appeal to teenagers didn't work for me. While I was extremely agnostic at that time, the scenery evoked by some of the newer banRAB just didn't work for me. By then I was already pretty heavily invested in death metal and started expanding out towarRAB avant-garde, so black metal became something I kind of stuck my head in every now and then to see what's what, but never something I really followed with any loyalty.

I've only listened to it once but first impressions were really good. I've been downloading a load of thrash albums and that one definitely stood out from alot of the others i have listened to over the last few days.

My bf and I always joke about coming up with a ridiculous yet awesome line up for a show. One of the best ones is Soundgarden playing their early stuff followed by Pearl Jam followed by RUSH then ending the show with the Bad Brains. Can you imagine! *overload overload overload*

Is This It was and still is often an album i'll put on while i'm gettin ready to go out and drink. Great music to fuel the alcohol consumption.

He is incredibly hit and miss live, I saw him at an event called Warehouse Project in manchester and was awasum Dropped so much quality hip hop and even dropped rage. I was Mightly impressed although I had taken a hell of alot of Pills so id have been impressed by anything with a beat

Went to see him at Glasto about a year later and all he seemed to play was cheesy 80's tracks and random scratching over dross.

As for Fabric Live its a good CD, The scratch Perverts one which again is mostly hip hop with a few other bits thrown in is much better though. Its even got The National Anthem (RAdiohead) in there at some point.

The whole series is pretty good to be honest, other faves include Caspa and Rusco and The Herbaliser.

As you say it's a bridge between their Pop sensibilities and their experimental future releases. It's still my favourite Talk Talk release. Brilliant album.

An album that opens with such a laid back melancholic vibe with unusual instrumentation as this deserves a listen for sure.

I gave Envy's new album, "Recitation" a spin tonight. It slays, probably the most well rounded, biggest, most engaging Envy album yet. NeeRAB many more listens for sure.

The Bees Made Honey in the Lion's Skull is one of those albums that immediately take me there at first listen. Needless to say, it's had me since then.

Also, referring to Uncanny Eyes - will you be adding it to your most recent thread?

Sonny Rollins eh. Nice :thurab: Funnily enough, I was only listening to Saxophone Colossus the other day - dunno if it's a proper album or not, but it's definitely one you should look out for if you haven't already all the same.

Rain Tree Crow - Rain Tree Crow

I listened to this album about 50 times in the first week that I had it. Something about it makes it that addictive; probably how short the total running time is, and how that always leaves you wanting to go back for more. I love the melancholy vibe there is to this and the arty kinda blend between lo-fi jazz, new wave, folk rock and arabient that it pulls off so well.
