Albums You're Digging II

The same thing happened to me with the Arcade Fire, except that I was also seeing them live after having not listened to them in sooo long. That was easily one of the best shows I've ever been to.

The Soft Bulletin-The Flaming Lips
Owned it for 3 years, only getting into it properly of late. Very beautiful, and What Is The Light is the sound of joy instilled into a pop song.

Morcheeba - Charango

Been really digging this album today, has some great guest artists (Slick Rick anyone) and maintains that downbeat tempo that is well known in the trip-hop world.

Yay for Faraquet. There was actually a good bit of discussion on them when I first signed up here. Haven't really seen them mentioned since.

Just relatively... I wouldn't count them as hardcore. It just feels like if you took all the hardcore bits out of At the Drive In, they would be The Mars Volta. That's why I referred to Sparta as the hardcore half.

right i'm HEAVILY digging these just now:

The Fall - Weird and Frightening World of the Fall

It's probably not in my top 5 Fall recorRAB but I'm really getting into it more than ever just now. The last track in particular (name escapes me at the moment) is superb. Awesome stuff.

Pocahaunted - Peyote Road

Sublime and beautiful psych drone music, made by two (fairly tidy!) girls... the chick who sings, her voice reminRAB me lots of the vocalist in the Cocteau Twins and Dead Can Dance. Beautiful music, will definitely be getting more by this band.

Nick Cave & the Bad SeeRAB - Kicking Against The Pricks

A covers album by the great man, not his best but again, getting into it more than ever. Love the cover of the Velvets 'All Tomorrows Parties', they sound hammered singing it!

and also digging a couple of Swans recorRAB just now, VERY heavily.

Nice choice!
Anywho I be digging.

Gothic Rock week made me dig this up, what a great band FielRAB Of The Nephilim were. Three absolute brilliant albums and this is my personal favourite.

I used to always think the women on the cover of this was wearing a cowboy hat, now I realise it's her hand. Pretty much perfect New Wave and they never matched their debut.

Working on my Blues comp reminded me to listen to this again, I enjoyed it when i listened ages ago and always told myself i'd keep it top of the pile. Now I realise I should of. Skip's a real legend and this is just fantastic Blues.

It blows me away from start to finish. I've known The Jesus and Mary Chain for a while but never really listened to this album from start to finish. It's just amazing.

I've been listening to Solid Air and One World 2-3 times a day for the last week.

A wonderful wonderful album.

Rhorabus is a NZ dub/electro band... I'm digging the first 5 tracks but I have to give it a few more spins before I come to a verdict.
