Albums You're Digging II

Yeah it's very enjoyable, but I'm not quite as amped about it as Anteater. The guitar in a lot of places doesn't create a real emotional engagement with me. Of course I've only given it one full listen so far...

Is it really that difficult to write maybe 3 or 4 lines listing songs you like, or say what made you want to check it out in the first place or give a couple of thoughts about it?

The whole reason this thread was started was because people were bored of just reading endless lists of album titles & cover art and there are still threaRAB where you can do that if you want to.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to keep standarRAB.

I've always known about Polygon Window, but never checked them out. I was always satisfied with his Aphex Twin stuff. Is he as good at this as he is at IDM?

Everything you post is badass, keep posting imo. You're one of the few people that I click every vid you link on here. 0_0

As for me...I must link this:

RJD2 - The Colossus

Excellent instrumental hip-hop with a heavy dose of beautiful song writing mixed in between. More listens are required, but I think this is my favorite album of his (yes, better than Deadringer). 2010 is kickin all kinRAB of ass so far. :D

The song I'm hearing as I type this. It's actually got the "hoover" sample from mid 90's techno goin on here. Most excellent.

Powerman 5000 - Somewhere On The Other Side Of Nowhere

This album brings together all the greatest things about the last 10+ years of PM5K: The sci-fi theme that is their trademark, the horror themes previously attempted with the album, Transform, and even a good rap-like track comparable to the early albums. All in all, an amazing album. If this, in any way, signals where the band is headed, I think we'll be seeing big things from them very soon.

Awal and Emotional yoyo are excellent tracks in fact Awal is now my myspace song

but i can tell their new album does not reflect their best work

where should i start

Impossible broadcast maybe?

Going to see Muse in Deceraber, so I was lucky. Midlake was very different to what I'm used to seeing, very immersive and atmospheric though. I also heard the longest applause for any band I've seen after one guitar solo. They even had a long instrumental in the middle of the their already fantastic set which I was surprised by. You DEFINITELY should go next available chance. :D

Really disliked this album when it first came out. Back then I listened to it a few times, and was convinced it didn't come close to any of their earlier stuff in quality. Have listened to it 3 times in the past 3 nights though, and now I'm wondering what I was thinking...really enjoying it atm. :|
