Albums You Hate By Bands You Love

I would have put Terror Twilight, but I really like 'Major Leagues'. Pavement lost everything that made them original with that album, they just became this boring pop band.

And Bossanova is only viewed so harsh because it followed 'Rosa' and 'Doolittle'. Its not their strongest, but at least they sounded much different on it, I really like the sound on 'Bossanova'.

Catch-22 by Hypocrisy

the nu metal sounding drums and guitar riRAB along with crappy vocal production did not do that album any good in my books, however their 2008 re-release of it was pretty good and gives off the sound of what nu metal should sound like.

Ok, you are actually spot on about those...but seriously, I can't stand the rest of the album. 3 out of 8 doesn't make for even an average album in my opinion.

I enjoy Filter and have since the beginning but Anthems for the Damned was pretty weak. The Amalgamut wasn't great either but it was listen-able.

I haven't listened to many of the SY albums that people seem to hate but I enjoyed Rather Ripped. 'Reena' is one of my favorite Sonic Youth songs and there's a bunch of other good ones on there.

I've got a bit of time to kill, so I'll do a few myself...

Elvis Costello & the Attractions - Goodbye Cruel World
300

A couple of decent songs aside, not only does this album feature a load of songs having the life squeezed out of them by some hideous production values, they weren't even very good songs in the first place either. Easily the guy's worst album.

David Bowie - Never Let Me Down

This one deserves a mention for pretty much exactly the same reasons as above. That said, the title track is one of my 10 favourite Bowie songs though.

Scott Walker - Any Day Now

Probably the man's worst effort (although We Had It All runs it fairly close). It's just so boring and MOR - leaves absolutely no impression on me whatsoever.

XTC - The Big Express

It's hard for me to hate any XTC album, but this is only album of their's I flat-out don't like. I listened to it a couple of times, got put off by the cheesy, noisy production and the fact that none of the songs really stood out for me and haven't heard from it since!

Oh my GOD what is with the hate that album gets? Seriously...how is it any worse than than any of their last 3 albums? In fact, I often mix up Amputechture and Bedlam because I can never remeraber which has what songs. They may as well be parts 1 and 2 of the same damn album.

Amnesiac by Radiohead what a pile of self indulgent garbage

Transmit Disrupt - Hell is for heroes
ok I dont hate it it has some good tracks but its just wank in comparison to neon hanRABhake and their new self titled offering(which is their best so far)
