Albums You Hate By Bands You Love

No, making an accessible album isn't bad, but making a bad album is, I got the leak, and was incredibly excited about it, but was severely dissapointed. It's not dirty anymore, the swagger has gone, and the guitars are boring. It was just a massive snorefest, and a complete departure, becuase they had been developing so well.

Seriously? I'll admit I hate the 5 second interludes that are pretty much every other song, but still, there are some great tunes on that album.

Echh, I didn't think so. Sounded like 3rd rate ELO, and I dont even like ELO in the first place. To tell you the truth, everthing after the first three albums Im not wacky about.

I'd say it's solid rather than spectacular , but it's a vast improvement over the 2 that preceeded it.

I've never really understood this whole Exile cut off point regarding the stones , Goats Head Soup while being a step down from Exile is still just as good as anything they put out in the late 60s.

Well, I think they peaked with Let It Bleed, and if Sticky Fingers was a step down from that, Exile was even further down the ladder, but still decent. Goat's Head Soup is, at best, mediocre (and Black & Blue is awful).

well it's one of those albums I've tried a lot to get into. even to the point of trying to force myself to like it, I do like the posse cut 'Rock Rock On', but nothing else really. I can't help comapring it to their other albums, that's the problem. --- but compared to lil wayne or something then it's a masterpiece.

wouldn't put them above pet sounRAB but I do like them!

Hmmm...

Pink Floyd - The Wall
Genesis (gabriel era) - The Larab Lies Down On Broadway
Enslaved - Isa, Ruun and Vertebrae
Ulver - Everything After Nattens Madrigal and before Shadows of the Sun
Ayreon - 01011001
Guns N' Roses - Chinese Democracy
Kings of Leon - Only By The Night

There's more but some don't need mentioning, like Metallica's generaly ****e era that everyone hates.

Here`s 5 of mine....

1. The Cure - Wish
d68463yr7qp.jpg

The Cure pander to their new found American audience by making the safest , blandest record of their career ,and sure enough they lap it up & it sells by the millions..... ****ing awful.

2. Alice Cooper - Lace & Whiskey

Alice attempts to become a 50s style crooner , and falls flat on his arse. I can count how many times i`ve listened to my Alice Cooper albums to the nearest thousand , this one i`ve listened to twice. Both times it never even made it halfway through before being thrown off the stereo & made to gather dust on the shelf. And if thats not bad enough here`s 2 worRAB that`ll put you off even more ....'concept album'

3. Blur - Think Tank

Memo to Damon Albarn
1. Stop being such a miserable git
2. Pull your head out of your arse
3. Bring back Graham Coxon
4. Stop trying my patience releasing utter garbage like this

4. REM - Around The Sun

Around the bottom of my CD collection

5. Massive Attack - 100th Window / Danny The Dog OST
(I would have pictures here but it only lets you post 4 grrr)
Massive Attack albums are like busses , you wait ages for one & then 2 come along all at once.Sadly it seems somebody pissed in the back seat in both.

Actually, I think the weak tracks on Let It Bleed are at the beginning, and I don't think Aftermath really has any weak tracks. BB just doesn't do anything for me.

I never got the big deal over Sympathy, bass line or backup vocals or not. It's decent, but nothing to write home about.

(Sorry, PissMeOff!)

Ok, I don't hate this one, but if What She Said wasn't on it, I'd probably never play it. A lot of the tracks seem like half-realized ideas that would later be perfected on The Queen Is Dead.
