have just been watching serpico, and isn't he a fine actor? one of the best of all time, so many great films he has done:), also love carlito's way, anyone else agree?
 
Love Al Pacino. ITV showed Scarface and Carlito's Way last week. I've been digging out my Pacino dvRAB to watch since :)
 
He's a brilliant actor. The Godfather movies being his best especialyl the first two. didn't like the third much though.

The Devil's advocate

Good old DDL - the way he "lives" the part literally, his earnestness, the great unequalled "method " practioner of our time.
As Oliver said to Hoffman on one famous occasion "Why not just try acting dear boy?"
 
Likewise. I think he's a fine actor, one of the true greats. Without wanting to spark off something controversial, i prefer him to De Niro as he is better. There, i said it. :)
 
I think there will always be comparisons to Pacino v De Niro especially as they came to the fore at pretty much the same time (early 70's).

I used to favour De Niro but then started to think he was just chasing the money with some of the roles he chose, I mean, Meet the Parents/Fockers!? I can't see Al taking a role like that.

Both fine actors though. Like a previous poster, I really like Gene Hackman- vastly underrated and never got the recognition he deserved-IMO

When he's good he's fantastic but............Scent Of A Woman:eek: what the hell were they thinking when they gave him the Oscar for that pile of poo.......( *memo to self...must visit Biggest Oscar Mistakes thread about this*_
