My mind is going at a thousand miles a minute, so bear with me please. Let's see where I am going with this. Ha ha
I can't help but feel sad and upset at the thought of my birthday coming or of me getting older. Why? because they're such negative things associated with getting older or being "this particular age" You know?
I live in the USA.
Now this is odd to me, and please let me know if you agree.
In general, teenagers, older kids, young adults, lose their sense of innocence a lot earlier than teenagers, older kids, young adults in other countries/cultures.
Now by innocent, I don't mean ignorant. I mean, the whole scandalous thing or, giving up on playing outside or sweet... non-vulgar conversations with friends. Do you get where I am going with this??
BUT
At the same time, we are not at the same maturity level as other, as far as *respect* and *responsibility* go.
Innocence, along with maturity, meaning respect and responsibility,
can they coexist?
I find myself wishing I lived somewhere, maybe in the east. Where it appears that people my age still enjoy themselves, without the pressure of 'acting' older or being scrutinized, but everyone is still, like I said, respectable and responsible. :[ I don't know what to do.
What are your thoughts on this. Do you think so too?
What countries are a perfect example of the whole "No crazy rush to act older, still have fun, but respectful and responsible...ish" stuff
Please forgive me, I am spewing my thoughts right now.
A little bothered too.
