Advice on subwoofer maintenance please?

I've had some MTX 12" subwoofers not hooked up for quite some time now. Is there anything I can be doing to keep them maintained so they still hopefully work when I go to hook them back up? I know the cones can dry out if they sit not being used and I don't want to risk cracking them when I do turn them back on.
 
keep them in a box and store in s safe area typically up high away from others the cone dring up i dont know where yo heard that at but when you go to use them again dont turn them up high let them warm up a few does to re break in and store in a dry area
