"Accident" Vs. Motorcycle worth (Kawasaki Ninja, 250)?

So I have a 2003 Kawasaki Ninja (250). The engine only has 10,000 miles on it, and has been serviced regularly. This was my first bike to learn on, although I've kept it a little longer as it is great to get around town on. It was my friends before I bought it off him, and we both dropped it down identically during ownership. Mine was on the left side, his was on the right side. Just a little scrape on the end of the brake and clutch, and we both had to replace the turn signals on the front. All the bodywork is perfectly intact other than above mentioned.

My mother backed into the front half of my bike, and my motorcycle shop estimated over $3000 to fix it up (Front fender axel, fork, bushing seals, clutch lever, steering bearing, lower triple tree, etc.) Obviously this is double what the bike is worth, and I'm not going to see it through, but I'm wondering what its worth to part it out? I have no experience with taking apart a motorcycle, and I'm not very mechanicly inclined. What are my options? The tires have 90% of the tread on them as well. If it helps, I have an extra key, all the tools, and the service manual.

Ideas and thoughts on what I can do, and what kind of money it's worth? (I've it helps, I live in the Northern Virginia area.)
