This is the first time I've ever heard of two former rivals suddenly turning friends.. and the rivals I'm talking about are in fact ABC(Disney) and Dreamworks Animations.

At a time Dreamworks was a rival because of the fact that Jefferry Katzenberg Left Disney and started his own group (Dreamworks).

But seeing this article today on Cynopsis Kids! really raised an eyebrow on me.

Here's the actual Article:

ABC Airing a Dreamworks Animation? I mean I've heard of Disney airing stuff from Warner Brothers (Examples include Batman: the Animated Series, Superman the Animated Series, and of course Pinky and the Brain, and even the Harry Potter Movies), But this? This one is defintely news and new to me..

But what are your folks feelings on this.. A Christmas Special involving Shrek and his gang. ending up on ABC.

Oy.. I'm still rubbing my temples on this one..(or maybe I'm just tired.)

I'm sure it will do well enough, just because it's Shrek. But I agree that the Shrek franchise is getting a bit long in the tooth now.

This is meant to target kids more than adults, and we all know it. I'm not going to judge until I see it.

Yeah, it's true that Shrek The Third was a let down, but we need to judge this Holiday Special on it's own merits, not against the 2 movies that completely rocked.

Well, judging from the Enchanted trailer (It's like a fairy tale... but modern!), Disney seems to be in a "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em" phase... I'm guessing they'll advertise the heck out of Enchanted during Shrek's commercial breaks.

It would be, if the Dreamworks people didn't have a huge spat or something with Universal. Paramount is their distribution company now. And as CBS and Paramount severed ties, I wouldn't think CBS would run it either. ABC seems like the best fit. There is also supposed to be a Prime Time major network Sesame Street Special sometime this year, and I wonder if it's going to air on the same night or something.

As much as I felt Shrek 3 was kinda dull compaired with 2 (I enjoyed it, but it seemed something was majorly missing), I will see this little special.

According to Wikipedia, CBS and Viacom are both owned by Nation Amusements.

And I'm thinking the current Disney administration has made up with Katzenburg. Dare I dream that if Disney and Katzenburg/Dreamworks/Spielberg are on good terms, we might see something special to celebrate Who Framed Roger Rabbit's 20th anniversary next year?

Please tell me you guys didn't just hear about this? I knew about it from before thanksgiving. =/

A promo aired after the Peanuts thanksgiving special.

I'm pretty sure everyone already knew about it, ABC promoted it well.

I can't wait to see it, I will probably miss a bit of it though, so does anyone know if it'll be on again sometime?

I knew about it since early this year.

I read the animation news sites.

.....
Man, if this special is better than Shrek the Third, then I don't want to see that.
